What a year it has been! 💃🩰 From taking on a brand-new studio space to growing our programs and tackling some pretty big projects behind the scenes, there is so much happening at Love To Dance — and we’re excited about what comes next.

We’d love to see our dance families and community members at the **Merritt Dance Society Annual General Meeting!**

Our AGM is your chance to:

Today, we take a moment to honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities across Canada.

Our studio will remain open for regular classes today. We encourage our dance family to take a moment to learn, listen, reflect, and remember as we recognize the history and ongoing impact of residential schools.

Dancers are welcome to wear orange to class today as a symbol of remembrance and to honour the message that Every Child Matters.

NEW at Love To Dance Academy: JUST FOR FUN!

Dance because you love to dance - no pressure, no big commitment, just FUN!

Choose from 4 exciting genres and join us for 30-minute classes every Friday starting September 25, offered in convenient 6-week sessions.

Session 1: September 25 - October 30
4:00-4:30pm Just for FUN: Ballet
4:30-5:00pm Just for FUN: Jazz
5:00-5:30pm Just for FUN: Tap
5:30-6:00pm Just for FUN: Hip Hop

With NO annual membership/registration fees and NO performance requirements, this program is perfect for dancers who want to move, learn, make friends, and have fun without the pressure of a full-year commitment.

✨WE HAVE MOVED!✨

After months of planning, painting, cleaning, moving, organizing, and plenty of “what have we gotten ourselves into?” moments, Love To Dance Academy has a new home!
We are so excited to welcome you to our beautiful new space at 2865 Pooley Avenue!

This space has truly been a labour of love, and while we’re still in the “trust the process” phase with a few projects left to finish, we couldn’t be more excited about what this new space will bring to our dancers and our growing LTDA family.

A HUGE thank you to all of our incredible volunteers who have given their time, energy, skills, and support to help make this move possible. We truly could not have done it without you!

To our returning families, thank you for growing with us and supporting this next chapter. And to our new families, welcome! We can’t wait to meet you!

Classes start Monday, and we are ready to fill this space with music, laughter, hard work, big dreams, and LOTS of dancing!

A little change to tomorrow’s in-person registration!

We originally planned to hold in-person registration at the studio, but we’re excited to be joining the Merritt Community Wellness Event at Rotary Park tomorrow, September 11!
Our registration times are staying exactly the same, only the location has changed.
If you’ve been thinking about joining Love To Dance Academy this season, this is a great opportunity to come say hello, meet us, ask questions about our programs, and get registered in person!

We’ll be there alongside other local organizations and services helping connect our community with resources, programs, and opportunities.

We will have the office open for in-person registration on Monday August 31st and Friday September 11th. If you are having trouble enrolling online, have questions about class placement or just prefer sitting and talking it through with someone, we will be there!
