The ice wasn’t too good before the storm, but the combination of the rain and the heat really left us with only puddles.

Congrats Graham!!

Congratulations to Graham Annable, winner of this year’s Forest of Reading Silver Burch Express Award for his “Peter & Ernesto: Sloths in the Night”.

Graham is a Merrickville resident, and generously donated this series to the Library!

The ice took a real beating with the warm weather. 😞

With a sunny day today, and only -4, it might be beyond repair for tonight (the only cold night left for now).

I’ll see what we can do.

We are closing the ice surface for now and the intent is to open it again on Thursday. The warmth makes the ice soft and unsafe. It also can easily take large chunks out of the rink. Let’s hope the thin blanket of snow protects things.

Sunday? Perfect day for a skate and some hockey. Ice will be ready by 10:00 ish.

All cleared... again. Lights are on until ~10 or so.
