We are SO excited to share that we’ll be welcoming Sportball to Dragons & Butterflies Creative Preschool this fall! 🎉

Throughout September and October, Sportball will be coming right to our preschool to give the children the opportunity to experience a variety of sports through fun, age-appropriate games and activities, right in our own backyard!

We know how important physical activity, movement, confidence-building, and learning new skills are during the preschool years, and we can’t wait to add this amazing program to our days.

And our Summer Camp kids get a special sneak peek! They’ll be lucky enough to experience their first Sportball session tomorrow morning!

We’re thrilled to be able to offer Sportball this fall and are already looking forward to welcoming them back again in the spring!

We can’t wait to watch our little athletes move, play, learn, and have FUN! 💙

🚂 Hey Medicine Hat! Ever seen a base run turn into a choo-choo train? Or a jump shot start as reaching for the stars? At Sportball, that's just how we play!

Storytelling isn't a side act in our programs. It's how we connect with the minds of our littlest athletes. In our Parent & Child classes, kids aren't "running bases"... they're chugging along the tracks, all aboard and having a blast the whole way.

The same magic happens with our basketball class! Before a shot is ever a "shot," it's a big reach up to the sky, and while they're playing along, they're building the coordination that turns into the real skill later. The fun comes first, and the athlete follows. 🎉

And as they grow, the story grows with them. We shift from imaginative play to following the leader and interacting with their teammates, building confidence and social skills, one adventure at a time.

Because when you meet kids exactly where they are, fun and learning collide. 💥

We're thrilled to be returning to the Southridge YMCA, our main indoor home for the season. A big thank you to the Y for being such wonderful partners in keeping our little athletes active all year round! 🙌

For those ready to take the plunge into the new season, our Fall 2026 classes are open for registration, with a class for every little athlete.

Take a peek at what your little one's morning at Saamis Rotary Park could look like. 👀 Fresh air, new friends, and a whole lot of "I did it!" moments, all guided by coaches who make sure every kid feels like an MVP. 🌟

There's a reason we end every class with the Sportball Cheer! 🎉 It's more than just a fun chant. It helps our little Medicine Hat athletes remember the sport they just learned, builds their confidence, and sends them home beaming. 🌟 When the kids shout out the sport of the week together, you can feel the excitement in the air… and honestly, our coaches say it's their favorite part of the day too! Drumroll please… 1, 2, 3, SOCCER! ⚽️

There's a moment we love in every class here at Sportball Medicine Hat. ⚽

It's when the kid who spent weeks hanging back finally raises their hand to go first, or when the one who "isn't good at sports" scores and lights up like an entire stadium cheered...and honestly, that's what we're really here for! 💛

Sportball isn't about just raising the next pro athlete. It's about the quieter wins:
🌱 Feeling safe enough to just be themselves
🤸 Learning to catch, throw, and cheer each other on
📖 Getting lost in a story while sneakily building real skills
…and all the little moments of growth in between, because the confidence they find here doesn't stay on the field, it follows them home. 🙌
