Just wanted to check in, especially because I know a big chunk of my followers are middle-aged women like myself.
How are you all doing?! Trying to navigate through this s**t is HARD some days 🥴
Not only are fluctuating hormones a constant moving target to try and hit/solve, but the internet is saturated with menopause info, making it all so very confusing 🫤
Here’s what I can tell you I know for sure:
We have to get a good hold of the basics first; this means lifting weights 2-3x per week, walking, stress management, a mostly whole food diet (protein and fiber are our BFF’s), and good sleep hygiene.
If we have mastered the basics and still need some additional help, that’s when things like HRT come into play (this is me).
Since starting, I’ve learned that HRT won’t always solve all the problems either, but it sure can help.
One thing I hear constantly from women my age and older is that we need more peace in our lives. I believe this is because we don’t have the same energy we once had and we are fighting like hell to conserve what’s left of it. We can no longer live in chaos 😝
So, if you used to be that person doing high intensity exercise 4-5x per week and now you can only do 1x per week of high intensity, that’s totally normal. Or, if you’re that person who loved going out with friends late at night but now you would prefer to stay home and read a book and go to bed at 9, that is also normal.
So, just like the rest of you, I continue to take it day by day. If you’re struggling, feel free to reach out. I would be happy to share what’s been working for me 🙂
Happy Tuesday! 😎
