For a little while, I stepped away from teaching yoga.
Not because I stopped loving it.
But because I needed to practice what I teach.
I needed Svādhyāya… self-study.
I needed to turn inward! To get quiet! To listen to myself! To sit with what I was feeling, what I was learning, and who I was becoming!!
And alongside that, I practiced Ahimsa… compassion to the best I could but also being ok knowing it isn’t always easy!
I gave myself permission to pause. To not have everything figured out. To not force myself to show up when a part of me was asking for space.
I allowed myself to step away without believing I was stepping backward!
And somewhere in that space, something beautiful is beginning to show up!
Im starting to find my inspiration again!!
Inspiration to learn.
Inspiration to create.
Inspiration to share.
Inspiration to teach.
This is yoga, too!!
Not just the shapes we make on our mats, but the way we learn to listen to ourselves in real life. The way we honour our seasons. The way we give ourselves compassion when we need to pause … and the courage to begin again when we’re ready!
So here I am… coming back. 🤍
A little more grounded. A little more inspired. And very excited to share the practice with you again!
A little reflection for you…
Where have you practiced Svādhyāya lately?
What have you learned by getting quiet enough to listen to yourself?
And where might you be invited to practice a little more Ahimsa toward yourself?
Maybe it’s allowing yourself to rest.
Maybe it’s releasing something.
Maybe it’s saying no.
Maybe it’s simply giving yourself permission to be exactly where you are.
What if taking a pause isn’t falling behind?
What if it’s part of the practice!?!
This is living yoga in real life!!
And I’m so excited to announce that I’m coming back to teaching Yin Yoga! 🌿
