The Mr and Mrs snuck in a river date tonight 🩷

The stars and moon aligned 💫🌙 All of our paddlers were off the water by 3pm today and Grammy was available to come spend the evening with the younger Outfitters.

We've been so busy this paddle season we forgot to paddle 😂

We started at Crawfords Bridge and headed down to the still water above Jam Falls. The rapids under Crawfords Bridge were a "weeeeeee", the next set of rapids were a "yahoooooooooooo", the third and final set of rapids were more of a Jesus take the wheel scenario. They are long and fast and we both pinged off a couple of rocks on the way through. With any less water they would have been a lot more technically difficult for recreational paddlers like ourselves. Happy we were in our Old Town kayaks and not one of our canoes ☺️

It was great to be back out on the Musquodoboit River together 🙏🤗

Well this was pretty exciting to see 🥰🛶

Musquodoboit Valley Outfitters made the Eastern Shore Cooperator!

Thank you to the person who saved it and dropped it off to mom at the market 🙏🩷

It’s pretty special to see our little business and the beautiful Musquodoboit River featured in the paper. We started MVO because we love this river and this valley, and wanted to help others to get out and enjoy it too.

Living the dream and building the dream have been two very different experiences 😂 Balancing MVO with our full time jobs, raising two little ones, and all of our family and community commitments has made for a lot of busy days and nights. But when we get a moment to step back and take it all in we know in our hearts that we have been blessed with the utmost privilege to be able to watch our little family and our little business grow 🩷

How lucky we are 🍀

A special thank you to Chalmers for joining one of our Social Paddles and putting together such a great article, and to him and his editor, Richard, for spending a day out on the river and experiencing it for themselves.

And a big shout-out to the Eastern Shore Cooperator. We’re so lucky to have a local paper telling local stories and shining a light on the people, businesses and things happening right here in our communities. Local storytelling matters, and we’re really grateful they chose to include us 🙏🛶📰

Huge thanks to Jessie D B Redmond for always being up for an adventure. Almost 10 years ago she photographed our wedding on this very river and now she's captured our first family photo as a family of four. 🩷🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒🩷

This river is home to us and sharing it with others has become one of our greatest joys. If you haven't made the trip out to the Musquodoboit Valley yet, consider this your sign. ✨
