After 40 incredible years of serving you, Meaford Pilates is closing its doors. My sister and I have made the difficult but thoughtful decision to retire and turn the page to this next chapter of life.
What an amazing ride it's been. From our very first day opening up shop, through countless early mornings, late nights, busy seasons, quiet moments, and everything in between—we've been so fortunate to share it all with you. Your smiles, your stories, your support, and your trust have meant the world to us. You've become more than customers; you've become part of our extended family.

A study published in Nature just changed everything we thought we knew about the "best" diet for health.

For years, the Mediterranean Diet has been considered the gold standard for heart health and longevity. But this head-to-head comparison revealed some surprising results when researchers pitted 120 continuous days of Mediterranean Diet against just 20 days of Fasting Mimicking Diet (four 5-day cycles over 4 months).

The Results:
Muscle Protection - FMD Wins Mediterranean Diet participants lost nearly 2 lbs of muscle mass, while FMD participants showed no muscle loss at all. This is crucial for long-term health and metabolic function.

Metabolic Markers - FMD Wins After 3 months, FMD participants showed sustained improvements in insulin, HbA1c, and insulin resistance that weren't seen in the Mediterranean Diet group.

Biological Age Markers - FMD Wins FMD participants showed significant improvements in vascular response markers typically seen in younger adults. This change was absent in the Mediterranean Diet group.

Visceral Fat Loss - FMD Wins Both diets reduced overall weight, but only FMD significantly reduced dangerous trunk fat mass linked to metabolic diseases.

Sustainability - FMD Wins 20 total days of FMD achieved results comparable to or better than 120 continuous days of strict Mediterranean Diet adherence.

The Bottom Line:
This doesn't mean the Mediterranean Diet is bad - it's still excellent for daily eating. But it shows that strategic, periodic fasting through FMD can achieve profound health benefits with far less time commitment.

The study suggests that short, focused periods of cellular reset may be more effective than constant dietary restriction for certain health goals.

2) during therapy in order to obtain greater tolerance to the drugs and possibly increase their efficacy;

4) to possibly help prevent metastases and as a way to reduce the risk of developing other pathologies.
