Information on the 2026 VMUTS Fall Rally Poker Run and Fun Run

Friday, October 2nd – Registration from 4-6PM. Evening fun run leaves the Mattawa Legion at 6:30PM. A bonfire awaits at the campsite on Trail 15.
If required additional parking is available at Mike Rodden Arena, Mattawa.

Saturday October 3rd - Rally leaves the legion after registering (between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.) if not already done so on Friday. Lunch is available on the trails at the 70 and 19 trail junctions at the west end of trail 70. Returning to the Mattawa Legion to pick a poker hand and prizes.

A valid OFATV permit is required for all SXS and ATVs. Other trail users including trucks, dirtbikes, etc. require a VMUTS Multi-Use Permit. https://vmuts.ca/product-category/permits

Many thanks to the volunteers who came out for VMUTS first ever spring trails opening, on April 25th. Over 30 volunteers traveled through the trails, clearing over half of them and identifying areas that will need heavy equipment to repair. The deep snow and water on some parts did not deter them and added some adventure to the day. The free lunch and BBQ went over well and each volunteer went home with a VMUTS hat to wear with pride.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Voyageur Multi-Use Trails (VMUTS) would like to invite you for a day full of hard labour and good times!

We are planning on making our spring trail opening this year a fun affair. The plan is to meet at the marina in Mattawa and organize ourselves into groups. Each group will then head up to different portions of the VMUTS trails with the tools needed to clear the trails and get them ready for this year's season. The groups will meet up at the junctions of trail 19 and the west end of 70 for lunch. The same location as the lunch for the fall rally. This is a central location on the trails for a yummy meal in the bush. Hot soup, chili and hot dogs and more will be ready for our hardworking volunteers. At the end of the day everyone will receive a VMUTs hat to wear with pride.

When will this take place? Our goal is April 25, 2026. It has been a long winter and we are hoping that the snow will finally be gone by then. We will all meet at the marina at 8 AM.

What will you need to bring? Your ATV or side by side, of course, plus any tools you would like to use. Shovels, snips, chainsaws and brush saws are all useful. Please be sure to bring your Personal Protective Equipment, especially safety footwear and eye protection. If you are using a chainsaw, safety pants are highly recommended.

Information on the poker rally/fun run

Friday, September 19th - Fun run leaves the Mattawa Legion at 6:30 p.m. after registering. Music, bonfire and food available awaits at the destination.

Saturday September 20th, - support the Legion big breakfast after 8 a.m. Rally leaves the legion after registering (between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.) if not already done so on Friday. Lunch is available on the trails (Sausage on a bun). Returning to the Legion to pick a poker hand, enjoy dinner and prizes.

The second bridge over Antoine Creek is now done. Trail 70 is now open. Tracks are proof that even two moose are using the bridge. Thanks to Can- AM for financial support.
