The Parks & Recreation Committee is interested in enhancing the Canada Day activities across the Township with the help of community groups, local businesses and Township residents. Send us your activity ideas and suggested donations (cash, in-kind, volunteer efforts) to [email protected] or by phone at 705-865-2519.

We’re willing to have the Massey District Community Centre grounds and building available rain or shine, tell us how to utilize it. Activities would NOT commence until AFTER The Legion’s Mouth Park events and end at least an hour before the fireworks show in Webbwood.

Want a bingo? Let us know! Vender’s market? Let us know! Kid’s Bike Parade? Let us know! Friendly baseball games? Summer Snowball Fights? Something else? Let us know! Have a creative idea to link events across the township? Let us know!

Let us know what you want and/or what you can offer to help celebrate Canada Day. If you’re interested in helping with the planning, let us know, preferably before April 28th and we can send you a meeting invite.

Closing up the Winter Carnival on Sunday, February 22 with kid's focused activities in the Sadowski Hall. Various kids games, face painting (or stickers/glitter) and minnow races while the action on the ice is in the playdowns. Vendors are still upstairs as is the Ag Society's Elimination Draw starting at 4PM. Then race to the top of our snow mound with plastic bags on your feet to be a King, Queen, Prince, or Princess of the Carnival.

Saturday, February 21st, the Family Hockey Tournament, a shared fundraiser for the Winter Carnival and Sagamok Little NHL kicks things off at 9AM. Breakfast (with donations from Massey Wholesale), Lunch & Dinner! Watch the action from the warmth above and peruse the Vendor Fair too. Outdoor activities from 10AM to 5PM. Place your silent auction bid on 4 tickets to a Sudbury Wolves game in March donated by Coca-Cola. Dayton Station Rebels will close out the night performing live starting at 9PM.

Tomorrow night! Fire Department Bonfire with S'mores from Massey Wholesale. RBC Rock 'n Glo with free hot chocolate. Adult Social Games with a variety of wings from The Wing House and snack trays from Clover Farm.

BYOB(oard games) - we'll provide the the other B - enjoy the Olympics on the big screen tv, join the Legion Euchre tournament, or just be a social butterfly enjoying good company, good food, and hopefully some Canadian gold performances in Milan.
