🪷Renshin Kendo Dojo Open House🪷

Thank you for your interest in Renshin Kendo Dojo! We invite you to join one of our Open Houses this Fall. These sessions will provide an introduction to Kendo and allow you to try it out for yourself! No previous Kendo experience or equipment is required. We welcome anyone who is interested, of all ages and physical activity level!

We would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all participants, shinpans, and volunteers who made the 2nd Renshin Women’s Kendo Taikai such a meaningful and successful event. 👏

Thanks to your dedication, sportsmanship, and support, the tournament was able to run smoothly and create an atmosphere that truly reflected the spirit of kendo. It was inspiring to witness not only the level of skill on display, but also the respect, camaraderie, and passion shared by everyone involved.

🥇 To the participants, thank you for your effort and for bringing such strong and spirited kendo to the court.

🚩 To the shinpans, we deeply appreciate your time, expertise, and commitment in ensuring fair and high-quality matches throughout the day.

👔 To our volunteers, your hard work behind the scenes made everything possible. Your support was essential, and we are truly grateful.

🏆 We would also like to extend a special thank you to Stephen Cruise Sensei for designing and creating our team trophy, the Lotus Cup. Your craftsmanship and contribution added a meaningful and lasting symbol to this event.

🙏 Last but not least, we express our sincere appreciation to Etobicoke Kendo Iaido Club for their generous cash donation in support of this taikai. Your contribution is greatly appreciated and helped make this event possible.

Dear Renshin and Whitby Kendo Dojo Members,

As 2025 comes to an end, I would like to reflect on what has been a truly happy and meaningful year for me.

This year, Renshin proudly hosted its first Women’s Kendo Taikai, we celebrated many successful gradings, achieved strong performances at tournaments, and had the great honor of Andrea being selected as a Team Canada member for 2027—along with many other memorable moments.

As I mentioned before, my personal growth and success in kendo this year would not have been possible without the support of our members. You teach me, motivate me, challenge me, and above all, support me. For that, I am deeply grateful.

I would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you for being such an important part of our dojo and our community.

Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season, and all the very best in the coming year of 2026.

It was a busy kendo weekend for many of us, but it was one of the best weekend we ever had as Renshin!

For some members, this was their first tournament ever, and it takes courage to participate, stepping out of the comfort zone, and to challenge themselves. To us, everyone is the champion. 🏆
