In 2009, Master Shi Guo Song established his first Shaolin Temple Quanfa Institute in Markham, Toronto, Canada, taught Shaolin wushu, Qi G

ong, meditation and manifest the 1500 years Shaolin culture. Master Shi Guo Song’s disciple, Shi Chang Dao is teaching Shaolin Qi Gong in the downtown area of Toronto, Canada. While we encourage the teaching of Kung Fu and Qi Gong to strengthen and revitalize one’s body, we also contemplate calm and peaceful meditation. Shaolin studies denounce all violent activities. Our goal is to set up Shaolin cultural and Buddhist center in every part of the world and to manifest the 1500 years old tradition of Shaolin spirit. The Shaolin Temple Quanfa Institute currently provides traditional Shaolin Kung Fu (Martial arts) and Qi Gong ( Soft forms) classes to students from all walks of life, age groups and religious makeup.

Are you frustrated that Kung Fu doesn't come as easy for you as for others? Everyone has different strengths, and it will be easier for some to learn than for others, but there is no substitute for hard work and dedication and that is the real lesson. Everyone has to put in the time to learn the movements and figure out how to coordinate their bodies; everyone goes through the forms and has to put in the time to understand all the intricacies. But, if you develop the Perseverence to keep up with the challenges, it will be rewarding-- not only in the results, but you also learn so much about yourself and self-discipline along your journey.

So don't give up on the training if you aren't instantly amazing-- you don't have to be amazing, I never give that kind of pressure to my students, but you can be constantly improving. Keep at it even if little by little, because there are so many things in life where you are constantly evolving, and it's really more about learning to hold true to your goals and to yourself. Training in Kung Fu will help you to develop that mentality, but it is relevant in so many areas of your life! This is the concept of Perseverance; where else in life would you think this kind of mindset would be helpful?? Please let me know in the comments! :)
