Some cars stop people in their tracks. This is one of them.

The Ford GT Mk IV has been turning heads at Le Mans, and for good reason. This is the ultimate track-only evolution of the Ford GT, borne from the same bloodline as the car that won Le Mans in 2016.

Fresh from setting a Nürburgring record, it now stands in front of the fans at the world’s greatest endurance race.

Ten years ago, the Ford GT came back to Le Mans, with history watching.

Fifty years after the GT40’s legendary 1966 victory, Ford returned to the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a brand-new GTLM, engineered by Ford and Multimatic, built to take on the world’s toughest endurance race.

Four cars started.

Four cars finished.

1st, 3rd, 4th and 9th.

To bring every car home at Le Mans is an achievement.

To do it with a new car, under the weight of history, is something else entirely.

A monumental effort from everyone involved.

A special car.

A special team.

A chapter we’ll never forget.

A hometown podium, a last-lap pass, and no shortage of Detroit drama 🏆 😮‍💨 🥊

Chris Mies and Fred Vervisch brought the battle-scarred No. 65 Mustang GT3 home third in Detroit, securing a hard-fought podium in Ford’s hometown.

The No. 64 Mustang GT3 of Ben Barker and Dennis Olsen was on course for more until an over-ambitious move from a competitor in the closing laps forced them into recovery mode. Olsen fought back brilliantly to take fifth at the flag.

Detroit always delivers drama, and a late-race yellow bunched the GTD PRO field for a final sprint to the finish. Running second with 45 minutes to go and chasing the leader, Mies was forced into an extra stop after contact, dropping the No. 65 to seventh. From there, he charged back through the chaos, climbed to fourth, then pulled off a decisive last-lap pass on the No. 1 BMW to claim the final podium spot.

The result moves Mies and Vervisch up to third in the closely contested drivers’ championship.

Our Mustang GT3s started life just up the road in Flat Rock.

Ford World Headquarters is just across town.

We took a 1-2 in Qualifying last year.

And we won the race last year.

No pressure then 😮‍💨
