Training hard but not building muscle?
It may not be your effort. It may be how your training, nutrition, and recovery are set up.
Muscle growth requires a strong enough training stimulus, enough protein, enough energy, and enough recovery.
That means:
• progressive overload
• sets that are challenging enough
• protein distributed through the day
• enough calories to train and recover
• sleep and recovery that support adaptation
• a program you can actually progress
Research supports this approach. Resistance training is the stimulus for muscle growth, protein supports muscle protein synthesis, and sleep/recovery affect training quality and adaptation.
For women over 40, this matters even more because body composition naturally becomes harder to maintain without intentional strength training and proper nutrition.
This is why I do not separate workouts from nutrition.
If you want to build muscle, improve strength, support metabolism, and change body composition, your training and food have to work together.
I help women over 40 train smarter, fuel better, and build strength in a way that fits real life.
