Hey everyone, thank you all for the amazing support and we’re all hoping everyone is staying somewhere safe and away from the general public. We’ve been slowly churning out the refunds but with a daily cap it will take around a few days to get all 52 teams their money back. Thank you for your patience and we apologize again for the inconvenience.

Hello everyone,

Many of you probably expected this, as we messaged captains last night that it was likely the case to soften the possible final blow.

Today, we received a call from the City of Markham that unfortunately, the spread of COVID-19 has caused enough panic that the local authorities and community leaders have urged the venue, as well as the event organizers, to cancel and indefinitely postpone this event.

Over the past 2 months, the newly formed CLSA (Chinese Leisure Sports Association) worked tirelessly to ensure we were able to host one of the biggest tournaments this spring but the timing just wasn't perfect enough. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it has caused everyone and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your understanding and support in this time period.

Despite the no-refund policy from the City of Markham, our friends in high places were able to help CLSA secure a full refund for the balance we paid and will be issuing the refunds by EMT. Even though we will likely receive the money from the City of Markham later this month, our committee will first pool their own personal funds into CLSA's account to help captains recuperate their refunds by this weekend.

We want to assure everyone that we absolutely did the best we can to ensure the tournament would go through but in the end, it was not our decision to make.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, we will guarantee that our CLSA volleyball tournament will not be dead for long.
