The Grey Highlands Shooting Stars Girls Hockey Association wrapped up their 2025-26 season with their annual banquet Friday May 1, 2026. Special thanks to all our generous sponsors for this past season.

We are very proud of our U15, U18 and Senior teams for their accomplishments this season.

Pizza and ice cream were enjoyed by all. Thank you to Big Cheese pizza 🍕 and Chapmans ice cream 🍨!!

Big thank you to all those who donated to our silent auction tables, absolutely amazing 🤩
Thank you to Elizabeth Johnston for the donation of a Pizza Oven and the fun guessing Canadian Tire money game.
$1300 was raised at our banquet which helps to cover costs.

We have 7 U18 players that have now become Stars 🌟 Almuni and hope to see them continue to be a STAR 💫 by playing on our Senior team.

🏒🥅 Our 2026-27 registration is open for players to sign up. We appreciate the early registration as it confirms commitment and our ability to ensure teams take the ice, hopefully back in the Markdale Arena, this October! Come be a STAR 💫 🖤❤️🤍

Our U18 team travelled to Vaughan last weekend to represent the Stars 💫🖤❤️🤍 and the WOAA in the Provincial Championships.

They started the weekend strong with a very successful first round! Friday afternoon they faced the Lambton Attack, winning 6-0. And again Friday night they played to a 2-0 win over the Ottawa Ice. Saturday morning they had another well played game and earned a 2-1 win against the St Thomas Panthers.

With 3 wins in the first round, they found themselves in a 3 way tie for first place - but with their GF and GA average, they secured 2nd place - out of 24 competing teams- and earned a bye right to the semi finals Sunday morning.

Sunday morning they faced a challenging London Devilettes team, in their hunt for the gold medal game. Despite their best efforts, London came away with a heartbreaking 2-0 win.

The girls came back ready to play Sunday afternoon in the Bronze medal game. The first place West Oxford Inferno were ready to challenge them, but the Stars played their game, capitalized on opportunities and earned the Bronze Medal with a 2-1 win!

3rd Place in Ontario is an achievement to be proud of, and our U18 Stars represented our association, their league and their families incredibly.

Congratulations girls on bringing home Bronze and another banner from your impressive season! 🏒🥅🖤❤️🤍💫
