The most common fear for folks heading into the backcountry is BEARS 🧸

But they’re so cute!

Seriously though, the thought of running into a bear is a scary one. I know that’s my biggest fear out there.

Hopefully these slides help quell the fear just a little bit.

Our fundraiser was a success and we managed to raise $1,800 towards the accessible playground! Thank you so much to everyone who came out for a wonderful (and windy) day on the water! It’s days like today that remind me why I wanted to start these workshops in the first place!

Trying to decide between a guided trip or going on your own? 👀🛶

Here’s the honest breakdown no one really talks about…

A guided trip might feel expensive upfront — but you’re not just paying for the trip. You’re paying for:
✔️ safety
✔️ experience
✔️ logistics handled for you
✔️ and the ability to just show up and enjoy it

Going self-guided?
✔️ more freedom
✔️ more flexibility
✔️ often cheaper on the surface

But also…
❗ more planning
❗ more responsibility
❗ more things you don’t realize you need until you’re out there

There’s no right answer — just what’s right for you and where you’re at.

👉 New to backcountry or heading somewhere remote? Go guided.
👉 Want to build confidence close to home? Try self-guided.

Both paths lead to the same thing: getting outside and proving to yourself you can do hard things 💛

Let’s talk about something we don’t talk about enough 👀👇

Your period in the backcountry isn’t ideal… but it’s also 100% manageable when you know your options.

I’ve tried a few different methods over the years, and here’s the truth:
👉 there’s no one “right” way
👉 it’s all about what feels easiest, cleanest, and least stressful for you

For me? Period underwear has been the simplest, most reliable option — especially on multi-day trips. But every option has pros + cons, and it’s worth figuring out what works best before you’re out there.

Because your period shouldn’t be the thing that keeps you from saying yes to the trip 🛶💛

💬 Tell me — what’s your go-to when you’re camping or in the backcountry?
