BLHL planning a fundraiser to the Yankee/Bluejay game Aug 16. Everything getting finalized but looks like a seat and ticket will be $ 100. Seats in 508 near right field foul pole in rows 3-8. More details to follow

Thanks for the great community support again. We had a terrific event at Bash for Cash fundraiser for our Bruce Lee House League hockey. It always amazes me the number of people who support us and special thanks to the Madoc Kiwanis Club and the Jim and Pat Dennison family. We really appreciate all your support.

Our Community Recognition Wall board is ready for a permanent home at the Kiwanis Centre. I’ve enjoyed working with the Wall committee bringing this project to completion. Committee members Tom Deline, Duane Foley, Lesley Morgan Danford, Loyde Blackburn, Karen and myself traversed a few roadblocks to reach our goal and honour some long serving volunteers and other achievements to better our community. Losing an important member of our committee Eric Brick slowed down our momentum but we persevered to finish the course. Being told there was no financial help from Municipal, Provincial or Federal governments we looked to local businesses and local citizens for funding. Thanks to Madoc Legion branch 363, Danford Construction Ltd, Hunter Ford, Upper Canada Stone, Bob Novinka, Doug Reid, Jason Bailey, Ben Danford. Madoc Kiwanis and Fine Line Design we were able to complete the task. And then a pleasant surprise, another generous donation from Burkes Funeral Home and Steele Funeral Home came in after our board was completed. Thanks to funeral directors Laurason Gunning, Chris Lindsay and Cynthia Collins. Those that attend our Gala on Sun April 26 at the Kiwanis Centre will be snacking on you. Karen and I will be there this Sunday along with all our inductees and their volunteers for our inaugural Community Recognition Wall ceremony. Please join us at the Kiwanis Centre. Tickets 13 and older $ 10 and available at the door. Social hour 1:00 with inductions at 2:00. Support the people who have been supporting this community for 30 years and more. Some of these volunteers will be on stage for more than 1 induction. Congratulations to all inductees.

To our BLHL players and parents; due to snowfall and uncleared parking lot we have decided to cancel house league play Thursday evening. For those who might want tickets to our Sens bus trip, we still have about 10 tickets left for the game on March 14 against Anaheim. $ 45 per ticket. Sorry bus is full

As of Friday night Dec 5 our tickets for the annual trip for the BLHL has sold out. We partnered with 417 Busline as a fundraiser for a great cause. 417 Busline a great group to work with. Our trip this year will be March 14 2026 - Ottawa Senators vs Anaheim Ducks.
