A small but positive group of members attended our AGM.
Some of our previous board members stepped up again to remain on the board and continue in their current roles:
Michael Smith – President
Beverley Madill – Secretary
Krystal Smith – Treasurer
Barry Madill – Board Member
Angela Usher – Board Member
The group discussed club business and ideas for moving forward with our trail system, fundraising, increasing membership, and more. This email will only cover a few of these items for now — keep posted as we continue finalizing the remaining ideas and plans.
We also discussed better defining responsibilities within the club by creating new titles: Membership Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator, Social Media Coordinator, Ride & Events Coordinator, and Trail & Land Coordinator. We are still assigning responsibilities; however, the Social Media Coordinator and Trail & Land Coordinator will remain with the President.
The road trail petition that will soon circulate throughout the community regarding our road trail application. This proposed road trail would allow ATV use of the road from the Valley Mills Trailhead to Smith GH & Son's General Store.
We also discussed our pending grant approval and next steps for the Marble Mountain trail work. We would like to get ahead where possible, so we will be organizing some volunteer work days. The plan is to hike the Marble Mountain trail, review conditions, clear brush and fallen trees, and identify areas needing attention. Dates and times will be sent out shortly to determine member availability. Members are welcome to sign up for all work days or just one — whatever works for you.
Lastly, because attendance was smaller tonight, the decision was made to allow additional members to volunteer for board positions afterward. Any member interested in joining the board can email me or speak with a current board member. What does a board member do? Board members help make decisions, support club activities, and keep the organization moving in a positive direction.
