I help horsemen & women who have lost their confidence (or never had it) turn their dull, stubborn, & unwilling horses into safe, willing & soft companions, w/o having to put in a bigger bit, wear sharper spurs, fight or argue with their horses.

I always come back to my Impact Gel pads. I’ve tried a lot of gear over the years, and the Impact Gel pads have more than earned their place in my tack room.

As I’ve said many times: I’ve ridden a lot of saddle pads over the years, and these are the ones I keep coming back to. I’ve got several of them now, and I ride them every day. They hold their shape, they sweat a horse right, and they don’t shift on long rides. I keep enough around that the whole family can saddle up with one when we head out on a trail ride. A piece of tack has to earn its place in the tack room, and these have.

If you want a pad you’ll rely on for years, this is my suggestion!

You can have the nicest tack, follow all the tips, even do the groundwork…

But if your horse doesn’t feel safe with you?
They won’t follow.
They won’t soften.
And they sure won’t offer you their trust.

One simple way you can begin rebuilding trust is by riding with intention.

A practice I teach my students is called riding with a purpose. It can be as simple as picking a spot across the arena, field, or trail, locking onto it with your eyes, and confidently riding your horse there with focus and direction.

Why does this matter?

Because horses trust leaders who have a plan.

When you ride with clarity and intention, your horse begins to feel safer with you. They stop questioning and start following. Horses that don’t trust you are horses that don’t feel safe.

That’s one of the reasons I wrote Herd of Two: Building Trust & Bonds.

This $37 USD e-book is designed to help you:
🤎 Become a steady, grounded leader your horse wants to follow
🤎 Rebuild connection after fear, injury, or time away
🤎 Create a true bond — without gimmicks, treats, or pressure

This isn’t fluffy theory. It’s real-world horsemanship that’s helped hundreds of riders build safer, stronger relationships with their horses.

If the trust has been lost, it *can* be rebuilt.

Thank you again to Shantal Smith of Slippery Moon Mecate’s for this awesome rig. It’s getting lots and lots of use. Shantal takes orders through her Instagram. You can reach out to her for yours. She can meet up with you for delivery or ship so even if you’re not blessed to be an Albertan, you can still get your hands on one of her amazing mecates. I 10/10 recommend

If you’re looking for a grounded, well-rounded start for your c**t, we are now accepting horses for c**t starting at the Key Ranch.

Colts are started using my Collaborative Horsemanship system, with a focus on softness, clarity, and building a horse that is soft, safe, willing and dependable.

Working closely with myself are two talented young horsewomen, Alex and Reba, who are starting c**ts under my direct guidance. They bring good timing, feel, and consistency to each horse that comes through the program.

If you’d like to learn more about getting your c**t in the barn, you can reach out directly by email or learn more at the link in our bio.

If you’ve been around here for a bit, you know I only promote things that have actually helped me and my family in a meaningful way. Cowboy Colostrum is one of those rare things that’s earned a permanent spot in our house because the benefits show up in real life — not just on the label.

The three biggest areas it’s helped me with are the ones that matter most as we get older, stay active, and keep putting miles on our bodies:

• Stronger Immunity
I’m around a lot of people, a lot of horses, a lot of travel, and more than a few stressful days. Since adding colostrum into my routine, I stay healthier, bounce back quicker, and don’t get dragged down the way I used to. It gives your immune system real support — the kind you actually notice over time.

• Arthritis & Inflammation Relief
I’ve had my share of rodeo wrecks, long rides, and hard work that left their mark. Colostrum is one of the few things that genuinely helps take the edge off the daily stiffness. I move easier in the mornings, and the aches don’t run the show the way they used to.

• Overall Wellbeing
This one’s harder to put into words, but it’s real: I just feel better on this stuff. Clearer, more balanced, more capable of handling the day without feeling worn down. It supports your whole system, not just one piece of it.

If you’ve been curious about Cowboy Colostrum or looking for something simple that supports your body on multiple levels, this is a good place to start.

The entire store is 45% off right now, which is the best deal they offer. If you want the link to shop, just comment COWBOY and I’ll send it your way.
