George Softball League SGSL, London's only student-led university softball league. For 9 years, the SGSL has consistently represented 10 teams, and over 100 students from University/Colleges in London, Ontario. Our goal is to enhance the London student experience and as such we not only offer students the chance to play softball, but also offer employment hiring 8-10 league participants as our ump

ires. We are proud to provide teams with jerseys, bats, and other necessary softball equipment. As always, SGSL will be running from September to November this coming school year. The 2017 season will provide brand new equipment, convenient scheduling, day-to-day league updates, and much more. The SGSL has established itself as the largest student operated sports initiative for university students in the London area. Our league draws a strong contingent from various sectors of Western University including Western Law, Richard Ivey Business School, and Huron University College. Even with a solidified contingent, SGSL has aspirations of expansion to include a Fraternity and Sorority division, increasing our leagues potential enrolment to include over 14 teams and 140 players in the coming year. The majority of the players are situated between Richmond Street to Talbot and Oxford to Kent - all within walking distance of Richmond Row. By day they spend their time at school, but as night dawns, a large majority of our athletes spend their time enjoying the nightlife in the downtown core, making frequent stops in many of the restaurants and shops located within this vicinity. Trying to keep the sandlot dream alive but don’t wanna commit to a full season of intramurals? Well pick up some chew and prep your arm for Tommy John surgery because this season of LUG Softball is starting this fall with games Saturday afternoons and Tuesday night. Here’s a quick rundown of the league:

- Every team gets 12 filthy LUG x Aberdeen jerseeys

- Discount for any player that signs up for Hockey and Softball

- We’re running two divisions (D1 competitive for the experienced vets and D2 beer league that'll be co-ed for the casual slugger)

- Games hosted right next to the downtown core

Last night, after an 11 run comeback and winning in extras, Team Pedvis moved on from the wildcard to the divisional round.

Will they take down the defending champs, or will the London Jew Jays continue their journey to back-to-back SGSL championships?

Will Sandlot's offseason efforts of acquiring big league talent pay off or will Adler upset the self-proclaimed "superteam" (Josh Levine) in their Conference Championship?

Hey Guys!

We are excited to announce that Saturday will be an extra special day of games in honour of homecoming! Throughout the day, we will have free beer for players while supplies last and many more giveaways! The team that scores the most runs will get Budweiser hats for every player and there will be a special giveaway awarded to the MVP of the day. We want to thank Bobby Beamish from Budweiser for making this happen and can’t wait to see you all at the field on Saturday!

Also, if you're bringing beers for yourselves, try to make them Buds!
