At Bu Shin Kan the Art of Ryukyu Kempo Ku Shu Kobudo is taught and studied. John Avery Kyoshi is the chief instructor having over 52 years Ku Shu (karate) Kobudo training. Kyoshi began his training September 1973 and started in Ryukyu Kempo in 1994, certifying in Ryu Te with Seiyu Oyata Sensei July 1996. It was this same year Kyoshi met Amor Kaicho and gave his support to Kaicho to continue his tr

aining. It is the responsibility of every Ryukyu Kempo Ku Shu Kobudo practitioner to represent and promote the Art to aid in its preservation. At Bu Shin Kan the art of Ryukyu Kempo Ku Shu Kobudo is studied. Ryukyu Kempo Ku Shu Kobudo is a classical/traditional art form and should not be mistaken for other Martial Arts that are primarily involved in sport. Ryukyu Kempo Ku Shu Kobudo is a in depth study and practice of the Art which requires self discipline and promotes self confidence through the practice of Life Protection. The culture of the art and the character of its members is what separates Bu Shin Kan and Ryukyu Kempo Ku Shu Kobudo from other dojos and art forms. If you are interested in the Ryukyu Arts, I believe that through Bu Shin Kan you will find your studies both challenging and rewarding.
