Yoshinkan Aikido Fellowship – Kyoto 2027: The Reunion 再会 (SAIKAI)
The Reunion marks a return to our roots. A celebration of friendship, tradition, and the enduring spirit of Yoshinkan Aikido.
Held in the cultural heart of Japan, this historic gathering brings together teachers, students, and pioneers from around the world to train, reconnect, and honour those who have carried Gozo Shioda Kancho’s legacy forward.

再会 (Saikai) perfectly captures the heart of the event. It literally means “to meet again” or “reunion,” and carries a deep emotional nuance in Japanese, one of warmth, shared history, and continuity.
In 2027, we come together not only to celebrate milestones and recognise the contributions of our senior instructors, but also to strengthen the bonds that unite us as one global Yoshinkan community.
The Reunion reaffirms our common purpose — to preserve, evolve, and pass on the true spirit of Yoshinkan Aikido.
