The 2026 Quebec Open was an amazing success!
M.P.T and Yuli Boxeo brought 6 fighters down to an amazing event, and every athlete gave it their all.
Up first was Ben Munoz. Ben fought a stellar fight, and while we felt the decision was a little controversial, there is no denying the effort he put in. His combinations, footwork, and pressure had his opponent on the back foot all fight. The split decision didn't go our way, but Ben impressed us.
Next was Kyle Hulme. Kyle had a good fight and was putting things together. His opponent tried to get in his head, but it wasn't working. Kyle stuck to the game plan, controlled his range, and put together some great combinations. The result didn't go our way, but we gained valuable lessons and experience.
Then it was Jay. He stepped in against a very experienced opponent and went to war. The decision didn't go his way, but the experience and confidence gained from this fight made it all worthwhile.
Saturday started with MacKenzie Neable, who looked unstoppable. She showed massive growth, followed the game plan, and put it all together to become the 2026 Quebec Open Champion.
Next was the Silent Dragon. This kid's endurance is crazy. He came out fast and threw nonstop punches for all 3 rounds. We saw major growth, and he became 2026 Quebec Open Champion. This kid is something special.
Last but not least was El Toro. He came out on fire and put together incredible combinations and pressure. While another controversial decision didn't go our way, the growth from his last fight was amazing, and he is 2026 Quebec open bronze medalist.
This was an amazing team experience, and the furthest M.P.T has traveled in the short time we've been open. We appreciate having Yuli Boxeo in partnership with us. She brings another level to our boxing program and creates more opportunities for our athletes.
Thank you to all of our athletes and supporters. A huge thank you to Alcides and Yuli for everything they do, Denise for running the gym while we were away, and Tonya and Aric for helping with transportation and keeping track of our athletes throughout the weekend.
This team is strong, and we appreciate every one of you ❤️🥊
