Rustler Nation, it's time for our last graduating senior!

Avery Bates leaves an undeniable mark on the women's volleyball program at Lakeland College. Arriving in 2020, she quickly became the team's starting right-side and soon after, one of the most physically imposing attackers and blockers in the country.

In her five years of competing fornthe Rustlers, she has accrued quite the list of accomplishments. Avery is an All-Canadian, an Academic All-Canadian, All-Conference member, Championship All-Star, Championship MVP, Player of the Year and Athlete of the Year. She is also a 4-time ACAC and CCAA Champion.

Statistically, Avery is third in program history for kills and blocks and top 20 all time in the ACAC. Had the team not won in straight sets so many times, she would have been on pace to finish at least top five in the ACAC, as she finished with more than 5 points per set multiple times in her career.

She will also be remembered as a beloved teammate, dedicated student and great ambassador as a student athlete, connecting with the dozens of kids who came through the rustlers youth volleyball programming.

Avery is completing her Bachelor of Education to become a teacher and will help out with the team next season. Congratulations on a spectacular Avery, we can't wait to see what's next when you finish your studies!

Rustler Nation, it's time for another season recap!

Men's basketball had the second best regular season in program history, going 17-3 and finishing first in the North Division. They received four conference awards, while guard Taleh Wade was named an All-Canadian.

In the playoffs, the team struggled as the host seed, finishing 4th. However, with most of the core returning, expectations remain high.

Rustler Nation, it's time to say thank you to another fifth year Rustler!

Bahaeddin Salma has been a staple of the men's basketball team over the past five year's and active member in student life on Lloydminster Campus. First joining the bronze medal winning team in 2022, Baha gradually became a starter by his second and third year, where he established himself as a tremendous two-way player.

He leaves as a two-time bronze medal winner, earning a championship All-Star nod in 2024. He was also a 3-time All-Conference member and the 2026 North Defensive Player of the Year, a distinction he earned for three straight years for the men's team awards. Baha was also a CCAA National Scholar and he sits atop the leaderboard for steals as a Rustler.

This next academic year, Baha will attend the University of Saskatchewan, where he will complete his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Thank you for your hard work in a Rustler uniform #9 and all the best on your next venture!

Rustler Nation, it's time for another season recap!

Men's soccer/futsal had one of their biggest single season's of growth in the history of the program. After a disappointing showing on the pitch, where the team was close but couldn't buy a win, they responded nicely during the indoor season, qualifying for the ACAC Futsal Championships and having three players recognized on the All-Conference Team.

Thier first round opponent, Medicine Hat, went on to win the whole tournament, while the Rustlers responded by defeating North Division rivals Concordia, King's and Keyano to take home bronze.

Rustler Nation, it's time for a new senior send off!

4th year defenceman Ava Cole has been a rock for the women's hockey program ever since she first arrived at Lakleamd from Edam, SK. A quality skater, deft passer and tenacious defensively, Ava quickly became a player capable of filling any role on the blue line and playing big minutes when she joined the team as they made their ACAC.

Since then, she has been a part of all the big moments, from first finishing first in the league to winning two straight titles. In 81 career games, Ava scored 29 points, 26 of them assists, and posted 52 penalty minutes, while leading the league in blocked shots.

Cole will graduate as a registered nurse this year. What the team will remember most an absolute warrior who shows up for the big games and protects her teammates. Congratulations Ava on a fantastic hockey career and good luck as you begin taking care of people as a nurse!

Rustler Nation, it's time for another goodbye to a graduating 5-year Rustler!

Seanna Trumier is been a rock for the women's volleyball program since she took over the starting libero spot in her sophomore season. Hailing from Prince Albert and the Team Sask program, Seanna showed she had the physicality, smarts and competitiveness to play at a high level and become a critical part of this four-year championship run.

While she could played left-side at more than a dozen schools, and briefly did for the Rustlers in the fall of 2023, she quickly became the most poised, consistent libero in the league, making it that much easier of the team's high-end outsides to be able to transition to offence. Digs that would appear spectacular if done by other athletes appeared routine when completed by Seanna.

At the end of her time at Lakeland, the 5th year finished 4th and 2nd all-time in Lakeland history for total digs and digs per set. For league awards, she was named All-Conference in 2024 and earned a tournament All-Star nod at this year's CCAA Championship.

Seanna also added some Saskatchewan volleyball hardware during this stretch, finishing 4th at the 2022 Canada Summer Games and being named Sask U21 Female Athlete of the Year in 2024.
But what her teammates will remember far more than any of her accomplishments is a athlete who let her play do the talking and was impossible to rattle.

Seanna Trumier finishes her Bachelor of Education and prepares for a career in teaching. Congratulations in a fantastic career, we can wait to see continue to make a positive impact on those around you!
