Off to Quebec for their National competition this Saturday and Sunday 🇨🇦

The Junior Nationals have their own coaching team so not only will they be walking into a space they've never competed at, but they'll also be doing it with unfamiliar faces leading them.

It takes resilience and mental strength for an athlete to have changes like these but these girls are prepared and ready to give it their BEST 💪

To be nominated for Member of the Month in a community filled with such amazing people is incredibly special, and such an honour.
I have been with New U for a year now, and what a year it has been.
I officially signed up on the one-year anniversary of losing my Dad, which was such an important and life changing step for me.
Over this past year, New U has become so much more to me than a gym. It became a place where I could set down my grief for a little while and work on becoming stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally. As someone living with lupus, I have days when my body feels like it is working against me. New U became the place I go every morning to remind my body, and my lupus that it does not get to define what I am capable of.
What I have found at New U is incredible. I have found strength in myself and such amazing support from a community of people I genuinely look forward to seeing every morning. The coaches are so knowledgeable, patient and so kind. The environment is so welcoming and uplifting, and honestly it is what keeps me coming back each day. Whether you’re having the best day or the hardest one, someone notices, encourages you, and pushes you to keep going. There’s no judgment, just support, laughter, accountability, and friendships I never expected to find.
To anyone nervous about starting, just know that when you walk through the doors you will be welcomed by some pretty incredible people. New U has a way of meeting you exactly where you are and helping you discover just how much you are capable of.
One year later, I am grateful that I took that first step. It led to a year of growth, strength, and support, and I am excited to keep building on it!!

This month, I am thrilled to be nominated as the member of the month. New U has taught me the true meaning of "fitness" in every sense of the word. It’s not just about one class; I’ve loved the high-energy, discipline, passion, and, most importantly, balance that has come to my life. I have always seen myself as just a runner and now I know there is so much more.
“Master of Multisport Balance.”
Whether I am crushing a long-distance weekend bike ride, setting a new pace on a morning run, flowing through mobility work in yoga, smashing a CrossFit style wod or meticulously learning Olympic lifting techniques, I’ve learned to do with focus and balance, consistency and endurance, enjoying every aspect of each sport to become a more rounded athlete. My coach, Alison, has helped and shaped me through my training over my 10 years at New U; from my first marathon to competing in CrossFit to now Olympic lifting.

Balancing high-intensity training with endurance and recovery is no easy feat,
structuring my week, often pairing strength training with cycling to days of yoga and mobility. NewU shows that you don't have to choose between being strong, being fast, or being flexible—you can be all three.
* Strength & Power: From CrossFit to the new obsession with Olympic lifting, I’m embracing the technical challenge, focusing on form and explosiveness.
* Endurance & Cardio: You'll often find me biking or hiking, maintaining that aerobic base that complements my strength work.
* Balance & Recovery: I’ve learned to balance hard workouts with yoga, maintaining mobility and preventing injury.

I am very thankful to be a part of the coaching team at NewU. My fitness journey with NewU started by responding to an ad on Facebook. I had never been athletic but I knew that as I get older I needed to exercise. The first class, everyone was so friendly and the instructor, Corrie, was so encouraging and patient.

In the beginning, it was the positive energy that kept me coming back. When I started, I could barely lift any weight, but now I am lifting weights at an intermediate level. When it comes to exercise, I have tried many times and always stopped, however with NewU, I have been coming for more than 15 months.

Originally, my goal was just to lose weight, but now I am more focused on getting stronger and increasing my mobility. I try to go the class every weekday morning at 6 AM and 2 stretch class a week, and I am accomplishing this the majority of the time. The early classes start my day off in an uplifting mood. I now enjoy getting up and going to class to exercise. The workouts are all different and never boring and they challenge me.

My clothes are starting to fit better and I can feel myself getting stronger. I can see more muscle definition and less flab, especially on my arms. I would never have continued to workout without the support and encouragement of the instructors and other members. Thank you to everyone for helping me continue on my fitness journey, it has now become a part of my daily life.

She may not know it, but this woman inspires me so much!!! She shows up, puts the hard work in, takes care of her mental and physical health, and does it with a smile on her face. She has completed challenges and programs and continues to work hard to finish what she starts. Originally I signed up for the 6 week course looking for some assistance to lose weight and get into better physical shape for a cycling/sailing trip to Croatia. I was ill prepared for such an endeavour. Graham assured me that I would be in a much better place after the 6 weeks. He was so right! With the help of supportive coaches and the encouragement of other class members I actually enjoyed going to the gym and focusing on myself with improved health and fitness as goals. I felt better prepared to face Croatia and its challenges. I completed and enjoyed my trip immensely! I was determined to carry on this new found confidence when I returned and New U became a valued part of my weekly routine. I am definitely still a “work in progress “ as they say and am looking forward to continued success in self-directed goals and targets. A huge thank you to all at New U for their continued support and encouragement!
