Located 230km Northwest of Saskatoon on the edge of the Boreal Forest, Northern Whitetail Outfitters operates a 17-bedroom, 5000 square foot developed hunting lodge and residence offering seasonal whitetail deer, moose, elk, and black bear hunts.

This is a year-round full time position that is responsible for all aspects of business operations.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge and experience in outfitting with an outgoing and friendly personality to maintain and develop our client base.

Salary is negotiable, based on skills and experience.

Pelican Lake Outfitters, Caribou Trail Outfitters, and Northern Whitetail Outfitters have recently combined outfitting companies to create one of the largest outfitters in Saskatchewan. With approximately 200,000 acres of boreal forest and farmland we offer unique opportunities for those seeking big game hunting. Combined allocations include 100 Whitetail Deer, 50 Black Bear, plus tags for Moose, Elk, and Mule Deer.
We are looking for the right candidate to help us build on our individual camp successes, and keep growing our brand.

Job description
Pelican Lake, Caribou Trail & Northern Whitetail Outfitters are looking for a candidate who can look after many day to day tasks in running a market leading outfitting company. Tasks will include but are not be limited to:

Assist with advertising and promotional aspects of PLO & NWO

Assist with booking of new and returning clients

Maintaining PLO & NWO headquarters & equipment; providing small construction work, yard care, security, painting, servicing ATV's and hunting gear and more.

Assisting in haying and PLFN agriculture (lands & cattle) operations to provide for fall baiting programs

Preparing hunt locations, including placement of minerals and baits for various seasons which include spring bear, fall bear, and fall deer. Other species may fall into those seasons.

Organizing PLO/NWO Outfitting team of guides, cooks, cleaners for various hunting seasons, mentoring staff through strong leadership on guiding, and processing of the animals.

Participating in guiding of the hunters through the various hunting seasons; transporting hunters to target areas, interacting with clients, suppliers, and Sask Environment.

Pelican Lake Outfitters are proud to announce the purchase of Northern Whitetail Outfitters and Caribou Trail Outfitters from Ron and Mark Shumlack.
Thank you to Ron and Mark for being great neighbors and working with PLO to finalize the deal. Ron will be out helping run the NWO camp this fall, and you never know he may be still around in 2023. You can tell that these guys are passionate about their business, and we look to continue the legacy of Northern Whitetail Outfitters and Caribou Trail Outfitters.

With the purchase, the 3 camps offer hunts on approximately 200,000 acres of prime Northern Saskatchewan Hunting ground!
Whitetail = 100 tags
Black Bear = 50 tags
Moose = 6 tags
Elk = 4 tags
Mule Deer = 2 tags

We will offer spring and fall Black Bear, you can combine those fall bear with deer, elk or moose !
The whitetail will run October, November and December. We have options to accommodate your schedule.

The lodge has 17 bedrooms, with 25 beds, and a couple seating areas to relax and tell tales from the day. We are now second to none for the flexibility and ability to offer corporate hunting retreats, or cater to a single hunter looking for an adventure of a lifetime.

We look to make some changes and improvements over the next year or two, adding to the experience which previous clients would have received. Combined we have more land, more animals, and a lot more flexibility to offer you a variety of hunts!

Had time to grab one camera which was overlooking a salt lick.
It was great to see lots of healthy young deer coming in. There were a couple prospects for us to keep an eye on for this fall and seasons to come.

Another beauty near camp, 2023 will mark Pelican Lake Outfitter’s inaugural "official" Black Bear hunts! Many 400lb plus bear on 40,000 acres, with many colored bear.
