Product testing is going really well on my hand lines. I got tired of finding new fishing spots and not having a rod. I made this to strap to the role bar on my Jeep so I will always have a line when I need it!

I used my fishing rod all morning in this spot with no luck. Switched over to the hand line and caught this bass first cast. So much fun! If any local shops are interested in these let me know as I will be making them in bulk over the winter!

Hand line fishing adds a touch of challenge you don’t get with a standard rod. Keeping the line tight while hand winding it in takes a bit of practice. Start with a couple pan fish to get a feel for it and then you are off and running!

These will be available on my Etsy shop in the coming weeks as well as a few variations for casting farther and faster retrieval.

Hand turned, hand painted and even hand made eyes. All done for the love of fishing in Lansdowne Ontario Canada! A couple of these lures will be up on Etsy this weekend! I also have some hand fishing line holders in the works and some duck calls! Deer grunts may not make it to Etsy this year as I am not happy with how they sound yet.

If you’re into hunting and fishing follow along and see some cool stuff we make! You may even see something you like! Everything I sell is hand made by myself. :)

Pulled the Ash self bow down to do a bit more work on it! I started this a couple years ago from a hand rived ash log! Of the 8 staves I got this was the only one that made it to bow form. I had to stop working on it and let it cure due to a split that started on the limb tip. Well 2 years latter it’s fully dry and the split didn’t grow. My riser block is a bit shorter than I would like. Not gunna lie a bit worried about that popping off lol! But let’s see if we can get this thing reasonable for small game hunting this fall! Bow is backed with old cotton tank tops cuz that’s all I had in the fabric bag when I started making it :)

I don’t consider myself a bowyer but I have made around 23 self bows now since I started at 13. Most broke or where to green and once strung remembered there shape to well lol! But I love the process! Making and shooting your own bow is a very rewarding AND FRUSTRATING process!

Duck calls are finaly back on the bench! I couldn’t decide on a tone board design so every one is going to be a bit different for a bit till I lock into a tone I like! This call is blue resin with zebra wood barrel and African black wood for the tone board. And as usual ya in house made reed!

Shop with tore up game calls and know every part of your call was hand made our family shop in Lansdowne Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 and no purchased pre made parts are used at all!

Who is ready for duck season? I know Personaly we can’t get through summer fast enough! But I hate the heat! I live for the cold!!!!! ❄️❄️❄️

Goose calls might just be coming down the line next!! ;) 🇨🇦

I also got 2 porcupines out in the woods which has been years since I saw any of these guys in our woods! The fishers came in and cleared them out but nice to see them coming back!

This is on the edge of my clover plot I put out this year to see how the deer like it. They eat it out of my lawn so way back here they should love it!

Second batch of meat quail are hatched and starting to grow! They are so small it’s wild to watch them grow!!

Do you farm at all? We have been growing our farm for a while now to include coturnix qual, ducks, lots of chickens and kune kune pigs! Goats is the next one I have been looking into. Our property is to wet for cows but goats would thrive!

Here is something you don’t see every day! A three legged coyote! I will be keeping an eye on the cameras and see if it comes back around!
