Congratulations go out to Cameron K who narrowly defeated Sam K in a final bout of our mini tournament. Tied for third place was Sofia S and Robyn E. The tournament was held last Wednesday night to end our regular fencing season. Fencing will resume in September on Wednesday nights for pre-teens and older. If there is enough interest an extra class will be added for children.

Have a safe summer holiday.

As the first month in our new facility wraps up Coach Luigi and myself are very pleased with the progress made so far by all participants. It is refreshing to work in a much larger space.

Kudos go out to young Cameron K who provided a musical interlude on his banjo during our last class in May with Appalachian style riffs. Cameron, a self-taught musician, when asked what other instrument(s) he could play he shrugged his shoulders and said only five altogether. Well done that man!!!

June classes will start next Wednesday and will be held on the 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th respectively. The fees will remain the same at $125.00 and includes HST. Payment by e-transfer is due by the first class.

Participants are reminded to bring a towel for stretching on and a bottle of water. Shorts will be permitted to be worn during the summer but must extend to an inch or two above the knees as a safety precaution.

The Kingston Fencing Club has closed its doors in Kingston.

The club officially closed its doors today In Kingston after three plus decades in operation in three different locations. The move was facilitated by a number of students such as Valerie, Sofia, Sam, brothers Tom and Will, Cameron and Evelyn. The removal of the wooden salle floor and the move was supervised by Mr. Zhengxin Sun, a parent, in record time.

The club will reopen July 5th at our new and larger location in the Lansdowne Community Hall, 1 Jessie Street from 6.00 to 8.00 pm. All are welcome to join.

A warm thank-you goes out to all students, past and present, who have made the Club so successful by creating a very friendly learning environment.

Kudos go out also to the Ontario Fencing Association for its ongoing support and fencing initiatives in our area.

Until July 5th as one door closes another opportunity arises.

Kind regards
