A moment of contact can spread illness. A moment of learning could prevent it. Early symptoms matter and so does early action.

Isolate first, diagnose second.
If a horse shows fever, nasal discharge, lethargy, diarrhea, or any sudden change in behaviour, move them into a designated isolation area before waiting for confirmation of the cause.

This simple step helps protect every other horse on the property.

✔️ Use a separate water source
✔️ Assign dedicated equipment & handlers
✔️ Minimize nose-to-nose contact
✔️ Post “Isolation” signage to avoid accidental exposure

Small steps = big protection. Spread the word, not the germs and take the on-demand online course .ca - Sickness Prevention in Horses

Did you know?
Horses communicate mostly through body language, not sounds! From ear position to tail swishes, every movement tells a story.

Learning to “read” these signals keeps you and your horse safe and happy.
