With a gorgeous weekend ahead and temperatures really feeling like summer, our shady forest trails are the perfect place to escape the heat and reconnect with nature. From open meadows to winding woodland paths, every ride offers a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy the beauty of the countryside.

Hooman has been hoping to get out for a ride with us for quite some time, and today the stars finally aligned! ✨

His dream was to ride a brown horse, and Arthur, our kind-hearted young Standardbred gelding, was more than happy to make that dream come true. 🤎

Today they headed out on one of our 2-hour trail rides, a beautiful way to start the day. This ride takes guests on a complete tour of the 11 km Shaggy Mane Trail through the stunning Campbell Valley Regional Park, offering plenty of time to relax, enjoy nature, and connect with your horse.

We’re excited to once again partner with the Campbell Valley Equestrian Society for their 2nd Annual Poker Ride on June 14th in support of arena upgrades at Campbell Valley Park!

Don’t have a horse but want to join the fun? We’ve got you covered! 🐴

Rent one of our trusty trail horses for the cost of a 1.5-hour ride and join one of our guides as we hit the trails, play some poker, and help raise funds for an important community project. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or just looking for a fun way to spend the day outdoors, this is a fantastic event for horse lovers of all disciplines.

⏰ Our ride is a 1.5hr ride at 10:30am. Price is $145 per person.
💲 $10 per hand additional to join the game-purchase morning of! (Buy 5 hands, get the 6th free!)

Not riding? You can still participate by purchasing a hand and having a horse and rider carry it around the course for you, or simply walk the route and enjoy the day.

Happy 7th Birthday, Arthur! 🥳🎂

We celebrated Arthur’s 7th birthday yesterday! This gentle young gelding has certainly earned his place in the Glen Valley herd.

Since arriving in early March of this year, Arthur has quickly become a favourite among many of our guests. Dependable, kind, and steady with both adults and children alike, he has a knack for making riders feel comfortable and confident on the trail. Arthur is especially happy bringing up the tail end of our rides, keeping a watchful eye on the rest of the herd as they explore our beautiful trails.

Though he’s one of the taller members of our herd, Arthur’s gentle nature shines through in everything he does. We are so grateful to have him as part of the Glen Valley family and look forward to many more years of adventures, memories, and happy trails together.

Just a girl and her favourite horse. 🤍

One of our regular riders, Madison, has a favourite horse here—Miss Lady-Mae! After her ride yesterday, Lady happily soaked up all the snuggles while Madison snapped a selfie of their sweet moment together.

Every horse here has a personality all their own, and Lady is certainly no exception. True to her name, she’s a strong and independent woman… who’s also just a girl. While she enjoys hitting the trails and taking care of her riders, one of Lady’s favourite things is spending a little one-on-one time with her humans after a ride. Whether it’s a cuddle, a scratch, or simply standing quietly together, she’s always happy to soak up the attention.

It’s moments like these that remind us that horseback riding is about more than just the ride—it’s about the connections we build with these incredible animals.

Meet Snuffy! 🤠🐴

We would like to introduce one of the newer additions to our herd, a horse that is especially near and dear to the heart of Glen Valley Stables.

Snuffy arrived in Langley about a month ago and comes with a very special connection to our history. This handsome gelding belongs to the one and only Cowboy Gene! Gene founded Glen Valley Stables in 2005, and after he and Joanne retired in 2020, they headed to Kamloops to enjoy a slower pace of life. About two years ago, Snuffy became Gene’s partner, and together they have covered many miles and made plenty of memories along the way.

We are thrilled to have Snuffy here for the summer and beyond. He has quickly become a favourite among both staff and guests. Gentle, dependable, and well-broke, Snuffy happily carries riders young and old. As an added bonus, he’s also a natural in front of the camera and makes an incredible partner for photoshoots!

The Wildest One in the West!
Happiest Birthday Floyd! 🎉

Our mule turns 1 year old today! (In fact, he already did around 3:30am!) This sweet young fella has done nothing but thrive this past year after a very rocky start to life. Floyd required quite a bit of intensive intervention in the early part of his life, to the point where one of our incredible local vets took Tara aside and told her to prepare for the worst, as he may not pull through. Floyd however, true to his stubborn mule roots, dug deep and pulled through with ongoing veterinary care and everybody’s assistance helping him any way we could.

Floyd has spent his first year simply being a baby mule — making plenty of friends, both human and equine. Going for walks down the trail beside his favourite Uncle Laredo, hanging out at the tie rail meeting many of our customers and acquaintances, and most mornings when the grown-up horses are getting ready for a day of work, Floyd is part of the crew too. Proudly wearing a saddle pad draped over his back and getting groomed right alongside the big horses.

Mules can live exceptionally long lives — up to 40 years of age — and Floyd is shaping up to live a full and happy one!

After a short social media break over the May Long Weekend and last week, we wanted to share a small recap of just how incredible our horses truly are.

Our good boy Boone stepped in last minute as Tara’s main mount for the Bit-a-Bling drill team performances at the Cloverdale Rodeo. Carrying the BC flag, Boone was a class act all weekend long.

Our pretty girl Lady carried our lovely guide Sydney and the Sunbelt Rentals flag with style. Kat was an incredible ambassador for the Glen Valley Stables booth in the Farm Friendz building. Bogo, Dunkin, and Oreo hit the streets of both Cloverdale and Fort Langley, participating in not one, but TWO parades over the weekend!

Our horses are amazing trail horses, but they’re so much more than that. They are well-rounded individuals that represent the true epitome of a good horse — confidently stepping into all kinds of situations with style, kindness, and reliability.
