Saturday - Points Race #7

The weekend started with a decision to drop the animal for Gavin and finish the season off with 4 cars. He wasn’t into it and we weren’t into running 5 cars if the kids didn’t want to! Easy choice.

The day started off ok and ended on a pretty big low. The weather was tricky all weekend and we just had that world set up too loose.

Sunday - Points Race #8

Today was qualifying instead of heat races. The weather was cloudy and cool which is never great for qualifying. The track was cold 🥶

Jr Honda - 8th out of 10
Sr Animal - 4th out of 7
Lt 160 - 5th out of 9
Lt World - 4th out of 6

We didn’t get the qualifying results we were hoping for but the boys came back strong in the mains landing all four cars in impound and on the podium! Gavin has really stepped it up and is keeping up with the front runners and Jackson drove smart and fierce today. We’re so proud of both boys 💙❤️

The day started off pretty good but we fell off a bit in the mains. We’ve got some work to do on the cars to get them where they need to be to stay competitive. Jackson drove great despite not having the speed in his animal and 160 and is killing it in his world! He really loves driving this car and it shows! Gavin had some work to do after some not so great pill draws, but raced really well! He’s gaining some confidence when making passes and we see that progress happening which is key!

Our next points races are in the same weekend! A double header on August 29th and 30th for points races 7 & 8 at LQMA - Langley Quarter Midget Association

Gavin held his own and had an awesome Honda race. He’s still struggling in the animal but is giving it his all and trying! Jackson was fast and had his first rollover of the season. Thankfully the car survived it and he came back to finish second. Think it was the animal race but honestly I don’t even remember 😵‍💫

Gavin was rocking it in his Honda race. A bad call got him sent to the back when he was running in fourth 😫
Jackson was a rocket 🚀 in his world formula! Once he got to the front he took off and had a half track lead for most of the race, eventually catching the back of the pack and lapping a car. Was a well earned win for him and were so proud of how he drove today!

Next up will be points race #6 on August 8th at LQMA - Langley Quarter Midget Association

Points Race #4 Results 🏁

Yesterday was a wild ride. The day just felt chaotic and I think everyone was feeling it!

Both boys struggled in the heats. Gavin couldn’t avoid a wreck and got taken out in his Honda, and the setups weren’t quite right for Jackson making him struggle to find the speed he needed in his animal. His 160 race ended by being taken out by a lapped car on the last lap from his second place position 😫

Jr Animal - P5 to P7
Sr Animal - P9 to P6
Lt 160 - P1 to P6
Lt WF - P4 to P3

The mains turned out better for us with Gavin’s Honda getting repaired and Jackson’s cars getting adjusted for the track conditions. Gavin finished his animal race with a bent front end but pushed through to the checkered and Jackson’s 160 tried to go airborne on the first lap but thankfully his car was fine and so were all the kids!

There’s a long break in the schedule now so the boys will finish up the last week of school and enjoy some relaxing for the first few weeks of summer ☀️

Points Race #3 rained out this past Saturday. Gavin got to race his Jr Honda Heat race before the weather rolled in and the day was called. Disappointing for the boys, a relief for Jordan who got out of doing it all without yours truly!

Boys will be back for points race #4 on Saturday June 20th at LQMA - Langley Quarter Midget Association

Both boys had a great day! We’re really seeing the progress with Gavin and that B main was the best we’ve seen him drive so far this season. He’s getting more comfortable in the animal as well and landed his first podium finish in a competitive class. Way to go Gavin!

Jackson landed himself on the podium in all three cars 🎉It’s just a matter of time (and figuring out some car adjustments) for him to land on that top step. Can’t wait to continue watching him grow and battle it out this season!
