Well all I can say is Thank you for being so lucky to have my family partake in this amazing fishing derby. This year for our team Team Handlebarz 2026 for the ICHA fishing derby. We are definitely blessed to have our same crew wanting to come fish with us each year we love them all and had make us custom towels for each member of the team everyone loved them. Well this picture has a couple exciting things the main one is it’s the volunteer coaches for the ICHA derby but the second thing you have to look closer. Do you see it? The package of blingers yes that’s right we have our blingers back we only have a couple packs left as this was a sample we handed out at the derby to the fishermen. We’re proud say they are still Canadian made by one of the best in the industry. We will do up a post later just wanted to show the boat off.

So over the years people will ask all kinds of questions about sizes of musky like do I believe that a 60”or70” could be out there swimming around? Or what’s the hardest size to catch? What’s the most rare size? Well I have an answer for the most rare and that’s the 49.75” but over the years I’ve had so many customers tell me they are 1/4” away from the 50” mark. So a few years ago after our friend had what seemed like 37 49.75” musky (give or take a few fish) we created the ALMOST 50” CLUB what it takes to join the hardest goal is to be honest when you measure that 49.5 or 49.75” heck we will even take a 49.25” musky and add you into the club you will get our decal and certificate. The only thing you have to catch it on a Handlebarz lure and share the picture with us. Let’s see them Almost 50”ers

What are your musky opener traditions?

Next Saturday is the day that most of us musky nuts in Ontario have waited for MUSKY OPENER!!! (Check your local regulations) but here at Handlebarz it has been our favourite fishing day because we get to help out at the ICHA fishing derby hosted by .pagano and his huge team that puts this together each year. This is our tradition since 2017 when we first found out about this great event stay tuned for pictures of the 2026 derby taking place next Saturday

Hey all this summer we decided that we’re going to take more family time and by that we mean we’re going to be doing some festivals and markets so we can see our Handlebarz family during the warm months. Our first one is the it’s June 19-20th we will have a full selection of Handlebarz baits and goodies with us. We might even have free water to help out if it’s too hot until we run out. The Friday night they have their big parade and fireworks will be Saturday June 20th with lots of fun for the family concerts and more this is a huge destination festival people come from all around Ontario for it. Hope to see you there. Watch out for contests or giveaways during that weekend
