Queen B and her new castle 🏕!

This photo was taken during a quick overnight trip. Here, Bosa is at the point of being really sleepy but not fully wanting to go inside her tent yet.

Such a tough life hey B? 🐶

As you can tell, we haven't mastered the perfect pitch yet, but not bad for only the second time while winds were gusting around 50km/hr.

"HEY! WERE BACKS!! 🧑‍🌾👩‍🌾🐶🐶"

- Houston, of course

Well, just like spring brings all of the bears out of their hibernation, we are finally back from ours!

If you've been following us in the past , then no need to read further! But if you're new, the next few paragraphs will tell you just a little bit of information about the people behind this page!

Houston🐶: Houston is the leader of the pack and the one who keeps everyone else motivated to keep adventuring. Houston is 6 years old, a pure bred red doberman who overcame many health problems as a puppy to become one of the biggest and happiest boys adventuring in Alberta's backcountry. Houston is 90lbs of pure crazy/awesomeness.
Trail nicknames: H, Mr big, Mr handsome, Mr fart and Mr snoot.

Bosa: Have you ever seen the movie mean girls? You know that character Regina George? Well, Bosa is a pretty accurate dog version of that character😅. Bosa is a reactive dog who's working really hard to be able to have friends one day. Bosa is 4 years old and 70lbs of pure sweetness (if you aren't a dog). Bosa is really close to making friends this year and we really hope we can get her on trail with a couple friends before the GDT.
Trail Names: Peach, Sweetie, The baby and B.

Ivy: Ivy is 26 and is the one who picks all the cool places we go to and keeps the pack filled with love, pets and snacks. If there wasn't a mom there wouldn't be much of any BackcountryGuys. Ivy is really easy going and always finds another gear to keep pushing forward during our adventures. The guys really love their mom.
Trail nicknames: The Mom and HotWaterSpotter(she's obsessed with hot springs)

Jordan: I'm usually the one behind the account. I am 29 and I'm the one who originally thought it would be fun to spend our weekends sleeping on the ground (didnt take as much convincing as youd think😅). On trail, I'm most known for wondering if we can go further, pointing at water bodies and saying "I bet there's fish in there!" and being way to comfortable in the darkness of the backcountry. Oh, and I'm the one who deals with all the p**p.
Trail nicknames: Poopdad, TheDad and Mountainman

These photos were taken during a hike we did this weekend in Kananaskis Country!

Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to take many pictures on this hike due to the weather but we still were able to summit the ridge crest and sign the register thankfully! There is A LOT of snow out there right now!

This photo was taken during a hike up to a fire look out this weekend and Houston was REALLY not happy about having to take pictures with his snood on. He can have such an attitude somedays. 😂

Happy Monday! 🏕

These photos were taken over the weekend during a short hike we did in kananaskis country. 🥾

Houston and Bosa really enjoyed this hike because there was lots of room to let them run around once we reached the summit of the ridge.

This was also a hike we had done before. The last time we were up here there was at least a foot of snow!

Do you mind doing the same hikes again? We try to always do a new one but sometimes it doesn't happen!

Happy to one of our favourite backpacking trips this summer, Lost Guide Lake! 🏕

It might not seem like much is going on in this photo, Its not at a summit, no one's looking at the camera, there's a random metal pole sticking out of the ground, the views were smoke filled and we were soaked, it rained almost the entire 30kms back to our vehicle. But the photo says alot more.

You can't tell we were on km 5/28 this moment, we can handle long days.

You can't tell we hadn't seen anyone in 3 days, we have eachothers support.

You might not have noticed ivys holding two bear sprays, reason being I'm not sure, but we are always prepared for the worst and hoping for the best.

These few things, amongst many others is the reason we have the confidence and have decided to hike The Great Divide trail here in the Canadian rockies this summer! 😯

If you don't know what the GDT is, don't worry, we will slowly fill you in! 🥾

ITS OFFICIALLY SNOOD SEASON!!🐶🔥

Happy Monday Guys! These pictures were taken during a hike we did up to a fire lookout this weekend!

We have a long term goal of visiting all active/decommissioned fire lookouts in Alberta and although we had actually been up on this ridge before, we weren't able to finish the last couple hundred meters due to extreme winds. We're happy to get it crossed off the list finally!

This is me and my mom during our camping trip this weekend! It was SO much fun! I gets my brother, help my dad find the sticks for the fire, play in the river AND EVEN eats a steak!

Now I need to go sleep for next time, dad says it's a LONG weekends next weekend. BYE!"

"Do NOT bugs me today, I am still sleepy " 🐶💤

Sorry buddy, next time we'll try to make sure the northern lights actually come out 😅!

Yup, we went camping this weekend! We had to test out some gear before we do a small winter backpacking trip this upcoming month. So when there was a northern light aurora headed over the rockies we headed south west and found an area on crown land we could camp on. 🏕

Unfortunately the aurora never showed up but we still had a great time camping even when the temperatures dropped to -12C overnight (10.4F)! Winter is really settling in up in the mountains! 🗻

What do you guys think about Houstons new sleeping bag? He says he loves it SO much he wants to give you one, stay tuned! 👀

"IM A GOOD GIRRRRRRL" - Bosa🐶

to that time we made an impromptu stop at Moraine lake just because we felt Bosa finally could.

A year ago we never would have believed we would have been able to take Bosa to such a populated place. But a little bit (ALOT) of hard work later and she can finally hangout with all the cool kids and influencers almost anywhere.
