🕯️ 9 YEARS OF INVATI 🕯️

This weekend marks 9 years since we first opened our doors. And four years ago, on this exact same weekend — our Kelowna studio was born too. Two beginnings, one dream. 💛

We’ve grown far beyond these walls — chanting, practicing, connecting, spreading love and serving communities in Nicaragua, Ecuador, Maui, Kona, Tulum, and right here in the Okanagan. Because at its core, yoga is service. It’s showing up. It’s making a difference wherever we are.

It hasn’t always been easy. We’ve grieved together. Lost people we loved. Moved through hard change. But we’ve also celebrated so much — new beginnings, healing, goals met, and learning to tap into the strength we all carry within. 🙏

Our café lived a beautiful season of community and connection — and though it’s closed, our rope wall and salt cave has arrived, bringing new energy into Lake Country. Change is the only constant. And Invati keeps growing because we keep meeting it.

To every student we don’t see as often anymore — we miss you. We think of you. We hope you’ll walk back through our doors.

To every teacher, therapist, facilitator, and energy exchanger who has poured love into these studios — thank you. It took a tribe to build this. I could not have done it alone. 🤍

I am so grateful for my teachers and the lineage we carry and share — for everything that’s been passed down and everything I get to pass on. 🙏

I am grateful for my practice, and the way it quietly absorbs into me, giving me exactly what I need, exactly when I need it.

I am so grateful to have space at the studios to share this with so many of you.

Every class you’ve ever taken has ended with you lying in the shape of a dead body.

Not resting. Not relaxing. Rehearsing.

Most people get twitchy after a few minutes. It takes the nervous system longer than a few minutes to properly settle. So if you’re leaving after a few minutes, mind or body, you’re leaving right before the part that mattered.

Savasana isn’t just the comedown after the hard part. It’s the practice of having nowhere left to perform. That’s harder than any pose.

And it isn’t only rehearsing the literal end.

It’s rehearsing every smaller death along the way — the relationship that ends, the job you built an identity around, the version of you that existed before you became someone else.

When something in your life ends, and you can’t picture what is on the other side, savasana had already been teaching you, quietly, for years, that letting go doesn’t require seeing the outcome first. You release. You trust something is there.

When someone or something special in your life dies, it is the practice you can come back to. Not despite the discomfort. Because of it. You’ve already been rehearsing, on the mat, for exactly this.

That’s not morbid. That’s the whole point of the pose.

September is the perfect time to hit reset. As the season turns and we start preparing for winter, this is your chance to explore every class on the schedule and really grow your practice — try the ones you’ve been curious about, double down on your favourites, and let 30 days of consistency do what it does.

We’ve also got more warm classes running than ever before. Our warm room sits at 88° — warm enough to soften you from the outside in as you begin, so that soon after you start class, the heat is coming from within: your own breath, your own movement. That’s the traditional way of warming up — not relying on the room to do the work, but using breath and movement to generate heat from the inside out. It’s a completely different relationship with your practice, and it’s one of the reasons we teach this way.

Breath and movement, done consistently, do a lot for us — they steady the nervous system, build strength and mobility, and give the mind a place to land. One month, unlimited, both studios. Let’s grow into fall together.
