LMSA is excited to announce that Desmond Grabo has accepted the position of Head Coach and is going to lead our U17 Selects team through the 2027 season!

Desmond brings a wealth of experience in not only coaching but also the game of softball and LMSA! He jokingly says he was born on the ball field and he’s not wrong! The sport of softball in his family reaches back to his dad playing many moons ago! Desmond is passionate about the sport of softball, the community of Lacombe and most importantly about the youth!

We are SO excited to see what Desmond and this team will accomplish together this season!! 💜🥎💜

LMSA is excited to announce Mike Cowan as the head coach for the U15 Selects team for the 2027 season.

Mike is coming into this season with an extensive resume of experience and tons of excitement for this new adventure! While Mike ultimately works with all of our Selects teams and athletes he is really looking forward to seeing what this U15 crew will do with their season! 💜🥎💜

I walked out to the circle in the bottom of the last inning.

Top of the order was coming back around for their third at-bat.

We were up 2. Two outs.

And before I even got there, I could see it all over Maddie’s face.

She was uncomfortable.

She looked at me and said, “Please take me out. This girl has been on me all game. Can we make a change?”

And I looked right back at her and said,

“Nope.

Sorry kid, but this is your game to win or lose.”

No bailout.

No rescue mission.

No one is coming to save you.

Just you and the moment.

Take a breath.

Now go attack.

Because here’s the truth—we spend so much time trying to protect our kids from uncomfortable situations when the uncomfortable situations are exactly what make them.

Confidence isn’t built when everything is going your way.

It’s built when your heart is racing, your legs feel heavy, your brain is screaming at you to run, and you stay in the fight anyway.

Nobody better.

Trust your stuff.

Trust your work.

And if this game is going to be decided, it’s going to be decided with the ball in your hand.

Now go get it.
