Proceeds support children taking ski or snowboard lessons, and youth becoming nationally certified ski or snowboard instructors. The children and youth are provided with an opportunity they might not otherwise have, and the physical and social benefits that come with it . . . and you get to walk away with a big cheque.

To the Class of 2026 🎓✨

Congratulations from all of us at Smokey Mountain Ski Club.

Watching so many of you grow up on this hill has been something special. We’re so proud to have been a small part of your story.

An extra special shoutout to the grads who have worked and volunteered with us over the years. Thank you for the early mornings, long days, hard work, laughs, dedication, and heart you brought to Smokey. You helped make this little hill feel like home for so many people, and we’re incredibly grateful for each of you.

Wherever life takes you next, carry that Smokey spirit with you: work hard, support your people, make memories, and never be afraid of a little uphill climb.

Here’s to the Menihek Grads of 2026, the memories behind you, and the adventures ahead.

Please join us on Monday, May 11, from 5-9pm at the Smokey Mountain Ski Lodge as we gather to remember, celebrate, and share stories of our dear friend, Kai Sutton.

This will be a casual evening for anyone wishing to pay their respects to Kai’s family and friends, raise a glass, share memories and laughs, and enjoy some finger foods together.

Whether you knew Kai from on the hill, the patrol shack, or one of the many places and communities lucky enough to know him, all are welcome to attend.🤍

Today we remember our friend, Kai Sutton.

Kai was a big part of the heart of Smokey. A ski patroller, bartender, handyman and the kind of person who always stepped up without ever needing to be asked. Kai showed up for this hill.

As a trained paramedic, he brought a sense of calm, care and unwavering dedication to the mountain. So many of us felt safer and looked after because Kai was here.

Kai loved his dog Goose, a good night around the grill, and a crisp pint shared with friends after a long day on the snow. He brought the kind of easy company that made him a part of our family here.

We’ll miss the après chats and seeing your familiar face around the hill. Most of all, we’ll miss you, buddy.

Thank you for being part of our Smokey family.
