Aviron Knowlton est un organisme sans but lucratif qui soutient l'aviron pour les experts et les rameurs récréatifs sur le lac Brome dans la ville de Knowlton, au Québec. L'intention du Club est de mettre en relation ceux qui souhaitent ramer avec des bateaux, des entraîneurs, des assurances, du soutien et l'accès au lac. Le club fournira un foyer pour le programme d'élite et agira comme un catalyseur pour l'aviron local de tous les niveaux. L'objectif principal du club sera d'attirer les jeunes vers ce sport. Le programme d'élite a démontré que le lac Brome est un endroit idéal pour l'aviron. La Ville de Lac Brome a donné au club l'accès au lac à la plage Douglass. La plage Douglass est dotée d'un stationnement, de vestiaires, de douches, de salles de bain et d'un café. La plage dispose également d'un quai et d'un accès à la plage finement nivelé. Le club agira en tant que facilitateur du réseau d'aviron qui relie ceux qui souhaitent ramer aux entraîneurs, aux bateaux, à l'accès au lac et aux assurances. Le pool existant de jeunes rameurs d'élite résidents offre au club une réserve idéale de talents. Nous espérons que le succès du programme d'élite aidera également le club à obtenir le financement dont il a besoin pour disposer d'un nombre suffisant de bateaux. Aviron Knowlton - Knowlton Rowing (The Club) was founded in May 2017. It is located on Lac Brome, Quebec, an hour’s drive east from Montreal. The Club’s genesis has been the work of coach, Gavin McKay, who brought elite training to Lac Brome. McKay has won widespread support in the community from the schools, the gym, the populace and the Town. The Club’s intent is to connect those who wish to row to boats, coaches, insurance, support and access to the lake. Our policy is to remove costs as a barrier. The Club will provide a home for the elite program and act as a catalyst for local rowing of all abilities. The club's primary focus will be on attracting the young to the sport. The elite program has demonstrated that Lac Brome is an ideal venue for rowing. The Town of Brome Lake has given the club access to the lake at Douglass Beach. Douglass Beach has parking, changing rooms, showers, bathrooms and a cafe. The Beach also has a dock and finely graded beach access. The Club will act as a rowing-network facilitator that connects those who wish to row to coaching, to boats, to access to the lake and to insurance. The existing pool of young resident elite rowers offer the club an ideal pool of talent. Our hope is that the success of the elite program will also help the Club to get the funding that it requires to have enough boats. The Club will make its first offering later this summer.
