Summer Camp is well underway
It’s very hectic managing 5 full days of camp every week, plus 7 days of regular evening & weekend classes. Sometime I wish there were more days in the week 😪
With this must action, our primary focus is safety.
At B*W Kitchener this means:
🎥 CCTV cameras covering the facility 24/7
🏥 All Staff First Aid Certified
👮 All Staff background/police checked
All Staff completed NCCP Safety in Sport training
🇨🇦 In good standing with Taekwondo Ontario/Canada including insurance
📢 All Staff are certified Referees with Taekwondo Ontario
🥋 All Staff are trained Black Belts to ensure techniques are taught safely and correctly
📈 High staff to student ratio (especially for summer camp)
❤️🩹 First Aid kits and ice packs are always available
🚻 No closed changerooms; we ask students to come dressed, although we have one small washroom available (only 1 student or 1 young student with a parent); additional washrooms accessible in the mall for adults as needed
📆 Meticulous scheduling to prevent students from interacting with instructors outside of class time
2️⃣ Rule of 2; no staff can be alone in a room with a minor, ever
📲 Strict communication bans; staff cannot be in direct contact with students (especially minors) on phone or social media
