TKO Fighting Arts: Kitchener-Waterloo TKO Fighting Arts est. in 1995 is Kitchener-Waterloo's original Muay Thai gym.

At TKO, there is no whining, complaining or crying, just good old fashioned hard training. Whether you are looking to lose weight, improve cardiovascular endurance, or boost confidence and self esteem, TKO will help you meet your goals. With perseverance and dedication along with a positive mentality, the sky’s the limit. TKO trainers are well aware of this, and they make it a priority to put the

interest of the students first. The other major aspect of TKO is our fight team, which is for those interested in testing their abilities in the ring against other competitors. We arrange for our fighters to participate in sanctioned events and do our best to prepare them physically and mentally for the challenge of fighting an opponent.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday to support Zeid and Eric as they prepare to represent TKO, Ontario, and Canada at the WBC World Tournament in Thailand in just a few short weeks.

For those who couldn’t attend, the boys spent the day earning their way to Thailand the TKO way. Under the banner of “Let Us Work to Help Pay Our Way to Thailand and Represent Canada,” supporters could pay to have them put through a variety of exercises, drills, and techniques throughout the day. From start to finish, they stayed busy and put in the work every step of the way.

The day was also filled with food, raffles, games, and plenty of chances for the community to get involved and support these athletes on their journey.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, contributed food or prizes, purchased raffle tickets, or helped spread the word. Your support truly made a difference.

A special shoutout to Kathy for all her help in making this fundraiser happen (if you’re ever planning a stag and doe, she’s the one you want 😅)

We’re grateful for everyone who showed up and continues to support our athletes as they put in the work to earn their place on the world stage.

Dan Sopa made his return to competition Saturday night at BTC, coming up just short in a split decision after a closely contested battle.

After a layoff due to injury, we were happy to see Dan step back into the cage and put on a strong performance. His wrestling and ground game showed noticeable improvements, and we felt he landed the more damaging shots throughout the fight. While his opponent was relentless in constantly pushing forward and keeping the pressure on, we never felt Dan was in any significant danger.

It was a competitive fight from start to finish and one that could have gone either way.

As always, there are lessons to take away from every fight, and we already know what to sharpen heading into the next one. The result wasn’t what we came for, but the improvements were clear and this was an important step forward in Dan’s development.

We’re proud of the performance, proud of the preparation that’s gone into it, and ready to get back to work.

The MTO Provincial Championships wrapped up this weekend, and TKO came home with 2 Provincial Champions.

Brian and Humaz entered tournament competition for the first time and both walked away with Provincial Gold.

Brian’s hard work, dedication, and consistency in training were on full display. He delivered a standout performance, stopping his opponent in the first round to secure the Provincial Championship title. It was a well-earned result and a proud moment for everyone who has watched his growth in the sport.

Humaz’s original opponent withdrew, forcing him to move up a weight division to compete. Against a strong, heavy-hitting opponent, he remained calm and composed, using intelligent ring craft, technical skill, and excellent movement to control the fight and earn the victory, becoming a Provincial Champion.

The championships featured approximately 50 bouts over 2 days, highlighting the talent and dedication of athletes from across Ontario. Thank you to Muay Thai Ontario for hosting another successful event and continuing to provide opportunities for athletes to develop and compete.

A special thank you to Zeid and Eric for their support throughout the weekend. From warming the athletes up and preparing them for competition to cornering and supporting the team throughout the event, their efforts played a key role.

Our athletes Zeid & Eric are travelling to Thailand to compete at the WBC Muaythai World Festival 🇹🇭🥊

Like many fighters, all travel expenses, accommodations, training costs, and competition fees come directly out of their own pockets, so any support truly goes a long way.

At TKO, we’re a family, and we want to help support them on this incredible opportunity to represent themselves, our team, and Canada on the world stage.
