That's a WOBA wrap until next year! 🏆
A huge thank you to all of the competitors who travelled from near and far. We truly appreciate your participation and the great spirit you brought to the 131st WOBA.
A special shout-out goes to the Heritage Greens Lawn Bowling Club and all of the volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the event such a success.
Sunday kicked off with the Calcutta, where $2,500 in prize money was split between Ryan Blair and Pierre Vanderhout.
Following the bowling, over 120 competitors and guests enjoyed a delicious chicken dinner.
Monday was moving day, with plenty of changes in the standings. The day also featured Jack Fowler famous Wiener Bowl, where an incredible 220 hot dogs were consumed! Congratulations to Erik Galipeau who captured the coveted Wiener Trophy.
Tuesday morning brought some exciting wins and heartbreaking losses across both the Championship and lower flights before Mother Nature had the final say.
Congratulations to our joint 131st WOBA Champions: 🏆 Team Vanderhout 🏆 Team Galipeau
A heartfelt thank you to our title sponsor vS Sports for your generous support. (And good luck to Sarah, who'll be entering the Pickled Egg Contest with her own secret recipe! next year🥚😂)
Finally, thank you to everyone who helped make this year's event another memorable success. Without our sponsors, volunteers, host club, and especially the bowlers, WOBA simply wouldn't exist. We appreciate every one of you and can't wait to welcome you back for the 132nd WOBA next year!
