Wondering what the difference is between a wetsuit and a drysuit?
A wetsuit traps a layer of water under the neoprene rubber to help keep you warm. A drysuit keeps all the water out, and undergarments are used to keep you warm.
Drysuits do not compress at depth like wetsuits, meaning buoyancy control is more predictable. Because of this, establishing correct weighting becomes easier.
Drysuits are more versatile. By varying the thickness of your undergarment, you can dive in warmer or colder water.
Drysuits do have a higher initial cost, but they also have a longer lifespan. Drysuits require some maintenance, as neck and wrist seals need to be replaced when they wear eventually out.
