Out of respect for the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, the events planned for Alumni Weekend have been postponed until the weekend of 24 September.

If anybody who was unable to attend on 17 September would like to come for the 24th, please let me know.

Anyone else feel like Brady Tkatchuk is to the NHL what Pete Hanly is to CAF volleyball? The looks, energy, style of play...

Yahoo Canada Sports: Brady Tkachuk is the most loveable player in the NHL.

Brady Tkachuk has been a regular at the Saddledome in the playoffs, cheering on his brother Matthew and the Calgary Flames.

Hey guys,

This year's alumni game is on Saturday, 30 September at 2pm at the base gym. As in previous years, we'll meet up at the Merchant with the team for a meet-and-greet after the game.

For those planning on making it out this year please let me know your T-shirt size. I'll also collect $60 per player to help pay for the T-shirt and food buffet afterwards.

Hope to see as many of you as possible. Please forward to anyone I missed on this list.

Everyone, time to round up the troops once again for Reunion Wknd (25-27 Sep). For the VBall Reunion, the plan is essentially the same as last year: Women's and Men's RMC and alumni teams are to gather at the gym on the Saturday afternoon at 2pm for Opening Ceremony followed by best of 5 matches. As tradition will have it, the alumni will then treat the Cadets to some food and drink at the Merchant after the matches.
For the boys, if you plan on showing up, I need to know a few things: 1. Do you plan on coming to the Merchant? 2. If so, are you coming accompanied? 3. Contact info (cell, email, college #) 4. Preferred vball position 5. Tshirt size.
Depending on how many of us are coming out this year, I will adjust how much the alumni has to pitch in but for now, plan for at least $50. More details to follow once we have a roster put together.

Dear Alumni,

Sorry it has taken me so long to send this out but I just wanted to thank all of you for joining us this year and making my first alumni match with the Women’s program a special one. It was great to reconnect with those of you I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for several years and meet what I hope are some new friends.

Jamie and Kelsey you did an outstanding job and without you this event couldn’t have happened. Thanks so much for taking the reins and ensuring that we had a special day celebrating our alum and our current team.

Each of you created a wonderful legacy and built traditions that I hope we can use as a foundation for the teams future success. I appreciate your patience as we waited for the referee to arrive and your understanding when we had to adjust and use a different option. We were lucky to find a certified official among the men’s squad but in future we will work hard to make sure that error isn’t repeated. We also enjoyed playing the mix match it allowed all 8 of the girls from the team to play and each has stated they had a great time.

The evening was great and once again thank you all so much for your contributions to the evening and its ultimate success. I truly can’t wait until next year for the next one.

So although a year away it would be great to keep our lines of communication open with the men’s alumni event organizer David to ensure we are in the loop when the planning process for next fall begins.

You are always welcome here and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
