Kingston Masters Swim Club

Kingston Masters Swim Club We’re excited to bring Masters swimming back to Kingston. Swimmers should be able to swim 400m continuously and hold under ~2:00 per 100 free.

Masters swimming is coming back to Kingston! 🏊‍♂️
The Kingston Swim Club will be a coached program for people 18+ with some swimming experience (not a learn-to-swim). Practices are planned to begin September 2026, when pool availability improves in town, with the possibility of a summer 2026 season if there is interest and pool availability. Join us to train, improve technique, and connect with the local swim community.

Hello swimming community,

Over the past several months, our team has been hard at work incorporating the Kingston Masters Swim Club as a not-for-profit, securing pool time at two locations, organizing coaching, and submitting our Swim Ontario new club application. We are thrilled to share that our application is being reviewed this week. Once we receive approval to operate as a club, we will release final pricing, concrete practice times, and registration procedure information shortly afterwards.

Here are the registration options for a short inaugural season, tentatively running from mid-October to mid-December:

Option A (3 workouts/week): Monday 6:30pm, Friday 7:45am, and Sunday 8:15am at Queen’s University.

Option B (3 workouts/week): Monday and Wednesday at WJ Henderson (likely 6 or 6:30am), and Sunday 8:15am at Queen’s University.

Option C (1 workout/week): Sunday 8:15am at Queen’s University (Note: This option will only open if space remains after the 3-day-per-week options fill up).

All workouts will feature a certified coach on deck providing structured practices and technique support. Weekday practices will be 1 hour, Sundays will be 1.5 hours.

Next Steps
If you are interested in swimming with us, please send an email to [email protected]. Pool space is limited for our first session but we have a few spaces available for both group. If we exceed capacity, a waitlist will be established. We hope to be able to obtain more pool space in the Winter/Spring session to accomodate more people.

Once we receive Swim Ontario approval, we will follow up with everyone who responds with exact pricing and instructions on how to secure your membership.

Thank you for your continued interest and support in bringing masters swimming back to Kingston!

Warmly,
Kingston Masters Swim Club

Welcome to the Kingston Swim Club! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

At the moment, pool space in Kingston is very limited, but our goal is to officially launch regular coached practices in September 2026, swimming out of two local pools. Depending on interest (and pool availability), we may even look to start earlier with a summer session.

This page is here to gauge community interest well in advance so we can organize pool time, coaches, and a group of swimmers. The thought is to start with 2-1hour practices during the week and a 1.5 hour practice on the weekends.

The Kingston Swim Club is for adults 18+ with some swimming background. You don’t need to be an ex-varsity, or Olympic, swimmer, but this will not be a learn-to-swim program. To participate, members should be able to:

1). Swim at least 400m continuously
2). Hold a 100 Free pace of under ~2 minutes
3). Refer to "front crawl" as freestyle. "Free" is also acceptable ;)

Practices will be coached, with a focus on technique and fitness. We also hope to have some members interested in competing at swim meets each season.

If you’re looking for a place to train, improve, and be part of a welcoming swim community, we’d love for you to join us here as we prepare to get back in the pool. Please let me know if you'd be interested in being part of the group!
