Two weeks ago, we celebrated the end of summer with our members, families, and friends visiting Kingston.

Great weather, amazing food, the lake, wonderful conversations, and most importantly, great connections.
A huge thank you to Chris and Yumiko for hosting such a lovely gathering!

Here’s to another year of friendship, connection, and Aikido. We can’t wait for what’s ahead :)

This Saturday, Kingston Aikikai organized a summer social at Gould lake to celebrate a good year of practice together with our members and their family! Gorgeous weather, amazing home-cooked food, some weapon practice, adventurous spirit (into the cold lake water 🤣), and of course quality conversations!

Thank you all for coming - we had so much fun. 💖💖 Hope to see more of our members and friends in the next get together!

Two weeks ago, Bianca, Gordon, Chris and Esteban attended the Canadian Aikido Federation Summer Camp in Toronto.

It was an amazing week of training, learning, and connecting with the CAF community. Esteban also had the honor of being invited to teach a class at Camp for the first time.

Now it's back to the mats to keep practicing and deepen what we learned from Osawa Sensei, the CAF instructors, and our fellow aikidoka. Thank you for a fantastic week!

Congratulations to Weixian Pan on passing her 1st kyu test during our 1st Anniversary Seminar.
She delivered a very clean and strong test. We received valuable feedback from our guest instructors on areas to continue refining and improving.
Keep up the great work, Weixian. We’re all very proud of you!

Two weeks ago, we celebrated our dojo’s first anniversary with a special seminar. We were fortunate to welcome an incredible lineup of instructors: Chris Hawke, Ivan Booth, Adrian Iliescu, Michelle Lapointe, and Marcel Lavigne.
Thank you all for sharing your knowledge both on and off the mats, and for your friendship and support. We also felt incredibly lucky to reconnect with old friends and welcome new ones who traveled from across Canada and the United States to celebrate with us.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a memorable experience. We’re grateful for the amazing community that surrounds our dojo and look forward to many more years together.

Yesterday, March 23, 2026, we dedicated our class to revisiting some of the techniques we learned from Claude Berthiaume Sensei.

We are deeply grateful for his teachings and the positive energy he always shared with us. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and all of his students.
