We are still looking for more volunteers! If you can help one night or both we would greatly appreciate it

Hello AVSSC Families,

We are looking for volunteers (parents and skaters) to help run our 50/50 fundraiser at the Valley Drive-In Theatre on Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20.

This will be our second time running a 50/50 draw, and we would greatly appreciate your support to help make it another success for the club!

If you are available to help on either evening, please let us know ASAP so we can organize schedules.

We would also love for volunteers to wear their club shirts while helping at the event. We do have youth sizes available for purchase, and if you do not currently have a club shirt, please let Candace know as soon as possible so the appropriate size can be ordered.

Reminder tomorrow is the day!

📍 DIGBY | Medals on Tour presented by Intact Insurance – Intact Assurance visits Speed Skating Nova Scotia!

Rikki Doak and Maxime Laoun will make stops in Digby (Southwest Nova Speed Skating Club) and Truro (Cobequid Speed Skating Club) over the next few days to take part public skates, club skates, autograph sessions and fireside chats. They might even strap on the inline skates for a few laps! 🛼

This year’s Medals on Tour stops were jointly selected by Speed Skating Canada | Patinage de vitesse Canada and Intact Insurance, featuring recent Club Excellence Award winners and a community chosen through a social media contest.

South West Nova Speed Skating & Digby Area Recreation Commission are excited to host Olympic speed skaters:

That’s a wrap, folks! 🎉

The 2025–26 speed skating season has officially come to an end after our final practice this Monday. What an incredible season it’s been—so much growth, laughter, and unforgettable moments on the ice!

Huge shout out to all our skaters, coaches, volunteers, and families for making this season such a success. 💙

Enjoy the off-season, and we can’t wait to see everyone back next year, faster and stronger! 💪❄️
