Congratulations to Sean Whitehall on being recognized with the Kiwanis Coach of the Year Award! 🎉🚣‍♂️

Sean’s dedication, leadership, and passion for rowing continue to make a lasting impact on the athletes and families at Kingston Rowing Club. His commitment goes far beyond the boathouse, helping young athletes grow both on and off the water.

As shared by Club Chair Sarah Roth:

“Great coaches do more than teach the game. Sean inspires confidence, builds character and helps shape future leaders. The young athletes that pass through his program leave not only stronger rowers but more disciplined, resilient, and community-minded individuals.”

We would also like to congratulate our youth program rowers, Oliver, Gabriella, and Josie, on their nominations. Your hard work, determination, and sportsmanship make our entire rowing community proud.

What an incredible celebration of leadership, dedication, and the future of sport in Kingston! 💙

ATTENTION ATTENTION

The Kingston rowing community has always been about more than just boats and medals — it’s about the people who dedicate countless hours to building opportunities for athletes, mentoring youth, organizing events, coaching early mornings, and creating a strong community on and off the water.

We’re incredibly proud to share that a number of members of our rowing community have been nominated for the Kiwanis Amateur Sports Awards this year!

Since 1978, the Kiwanis Club has recognized athletes and builders across our region whose leadership, dedication, and achievements inspire the next generation of sport in Kingston.

It truly takes a village to keep a boathouse running strong. Huge thank you to all the athletes, parents, and volunteers who gave up their morning to help clean the boathouse and install our new goose line.

Your hard work, teamwork, and commitment to our club do not go unnoticed. Days like today show what an incredible community we have — everyone pitching in to make our space cleaner, safer, and ready for the season ahead.

Thank you for showing up, working hard, and supporting the team spirit that makes this club so special! 🚣‍♀️

Our senior women’s 4x placed 5th in a really tough group. Congratulations to Lena, Kaari, Zoey, and Eden!

Many of these athletes will be heading off next weekend for the High School regatta in the Niagara Region!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms, grandmas, aunties, coaches, and strong women behind our rowers. 💐🚣‍♀️

Thank you for the early morning wakeups before the sun comes up, the endless driving to practices and regattas, the cheering from docks and shorelines, the emergency safety pins and forgotten water bottles, and the “special race-day snacks” that somehow make everything better.

Thank you for washing muddy rowing gear, listening to race recaps, calming nerves before competitions, and celebrating every tiny victory along the way.

Rowing may happen on the water, but it is built on the love, support, and dedication of the people behind the scenes. Today we celebrate you and all that you do for our rowing community. ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Kingston Rowing Club.
