🅳🅾🅽’🆃 🆃🅰🅺🅴 🆃🅷🅸🅽🅶🆂 🅿🅴🆁🆂🅾🅽🅰🅻🅻🆈.

𝓓𝓸𝓷 𝓜𝓲𝓰𝓾𝓮𝓵 𝓡𝓾𝓲𝔃’s second agreement is about the perception of others, and the external world - these things outside ourselves have nothing to do with us. But so often we assume that someone else’s anger, moodiness, frustration, is about us. In reality, people are dealing with themselves, and their moods, opinions, or anger is a relationship they have with themselves.
We make the mistake by “eating” others' opinions and words, and poisoning ourselves when we take it personally.

📌 The lesson about this chapter is that your own self-opinion, and the relationship with yourself is what matters. Not taking things personally means you are able to validate yourself.

💭 “As you make a habit of not taking anything personally, you won’t need to place your trust in what others do or say. You will only need to trust yourself to make responsible choices. You are never responsible for the actions of others; you are only responsible for you.”

Most people think 🤔 that to maintain a healthy body, they must do a 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗼𝘂𝘁 almost every day of the week.
But consider how the body might perceive a hard workout, in a time of stress in your life…

When unbalanced, people often feel “uprooted,” scattered, and stressed during the holidays. That means their body has a weakened immune system, getting lower quality (or not enough) sleep, with the body fighting high levels of stress.

⚠️ When your body is in a physical and biological state of stress, a hard workout might be perceived as even MORE stress to an already tapped-out body!

For this reason, it’s important to choose your workouts, and the kind of exercise you do, from the perspective of your body:

💭 Does it need to expend energy?
💭 Or does it need to RESTORE energy?

In an ideal world, you will get a mixture of both. But during times of high-stress in your life, pay close attention to what’s best for the day, and ask what your body needs most to be healthy.

Examples of what 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆:

💡 Stretching sessions.
💡 Light jogging or walking in nature.
💡 Yin, Hatha or Restorative Yoga.
💡 Workouts done at 65-70% effort.
💡 Tai Chi.
💡 Breathing exercises like Wim Hof’s method.
💡 Epsom Salt Baths.
💡 Meditation.

𝕽𝖆𝖓𝖉 believed that reality is simply what it is, and not what we want it to be. She also taught that a person’s highest moral purpose is their own happiness - not in a way that exploits others for your own gain, but rather in a way that honours your own right to happiness, as well as others' choices in the pursuit of their own happiness... even if it’s different from your values.

The result of her philosophy which she called “objectivism” was a life of reason, purpose, self-esteem, and harmony for living on Earth. 🤗😇
