At 81, She Decided to Try… And Everything Started to Change

If you’ve ever thought…
“I’m not as strong as I used to be”
“I don’t want to get hurt”
“I wouldn’t even know where to start”
You’re not alone.
That’s exactly how Joan felt.
At 81 years of age, Joan wasn’t looking for anything extreme.
She simply wanted to improve her strength and balance so she could feel more steady and confident in her day-to-day life.
She first learned about Fit Body at a Ladies Night shopping event last fall.
And something about it the conversation she had with the coaches she spoke with, stuck.
Not because it felt intimidating. Because it felt like something she might actually be able to do.
For years, there were things Joan had stopped doing—like getting up and down off the floor.
Not because she definitely couldn’t…
But because she wasn’t sure if she should be doing that anymore at her age.
Until one day, she tried it at home….just to see.
And realized… “Maybe I can do this.”
That moment gave her the confidence to take the next step and walk into Fit Body.
At first, some movements felt unfamiliar.
Lunges were definitely challenging.
Simple coordination—like moving one arm and the opposite leg at the same time—took focus and practice.
But here’s what made the difference:
She wasn’t rushed
She wasn’t expected to “keep up”
She was coached, guided, and supported every step of the way
And slowly… things started to change.
Movements that once felt confusing began to feel natural.
“I had to really think about it at first… and now I can do it.”
What surprised Joan the most wasn’t just the physical progress she was making.
It was how much more aware and confident she felt.
“I tell myself, ‘don’t rush, Joan.’ I’m thinking more now.”

That’s what real progress looks like.
Not pushing harder…

Joan has even had a few close calls with losing her balance over the past few months—moments that could shake anyone’s confidence.

She keeps showing up
