Making life changes can be difficult, but when you do it for all the right reasons, it becomes second nature...

Chris is not only one of the hardest working clients that I've had the privilege of working with but also one of the hardest working individuals outside of the gym. This man finds a goal and then pounces on it like a lion. Two months in and no signs of slowing down. He's lost nearly 30 lbs, increased strength, flexibility, VO2Max, and literally every other marker that we've kept track of.

One marker worth noting is his mood. We keep track of how he's feeling before and after coming into the gym. The last slide shows that over the last month, Chris has left happier and more accomplished all but one day (harder day from quitting ni****ne). This is a helpful gauge to ensure the workout isn't causing him to feel worse than when he arrived, but it's also a reminder that when he works out, things get better.

Keep track of as many factors relating to your training as you can. Knowledge is power.

Prolonged sitting has numerous related health concerns, such as:
◾️ Obesity
◾️ Increased blood pressure
◾️ high blood sugar
◾️ high cholesterol

The benefits of 5 minutes of walking every 30 minutes include:
◾️Lower blood pressure/sugar
◾️Reducing blood sugar spikes by 58% compared to sitting all day
◾️Decrease in fatigue
◾️Increased mood

Barring any specific cases or times where you're injured, this should apply to people in all professions and walks of life (pun intended). If you think this may apply to you, do your body a favor and MOVE...

📣 Client Spotlight 📣

Chris has done a complete 180 of his life in a short month and has given me permission to share a little about his journey thus far. From smoking and drinking to cutting it cold turkey, from little to no exercise to exercising most days of the week, and from pain and lack of mobility to performing movements with ease, Chris is well on his way to achieving his career goals.

Numbers don't lie, and the following numbers are something that this man worked extremely hard for:

◾️Weight: 227 ➡️ 209
◾️Waist: 45.5" ➡️ 41.5"
◾️Hips: 43" ➡️ 41.6"

Now, measurements can be important and a main goal for individuals, but the mental gains you can make can be even more important for some. The following numbers are based on a few questions from a mental health questionnaire that I include during intake:

0 = not at all, 1 = some days, 2 = more than half the days, 3 = nearly every day of the week

◾️Feeling down/depressed: 3 ➡️ 0.5
◾️Feeling tired/little energy: 3 ➡️ 1.7
◾️Poor appetite/overeating: 3 ➡️ 0
◾️Trouble concentrating: 1.5 ➡️ 0.5
◾️Restless/fidgety: 3 ➡️ 0

These numbers in my mind are significantly more important, especially at the beginning of a program/life change. I'm very proud of this man and can't wait to see where his determination takes him next.
