Jelana has been teaching golf in Quebec and Ontario for more than 20 years. She holds a degree in Physical Education from the University of Ottawa. A Passion For Teaching

In the off-season, she teaches elementary school. She has taken courses in coaching within the PGA of Canada's teaching and certification program, as well as with the National Coaching and Ce

rtification Program. Her approach to teaching is personalized, even within group clinics. Developing player confidence and consistency is her main focus. She has extensive experience in successfully teaching juniors as well as beginners, especially women, to develop their full potential and, most importantly, to enjoy the game!

I really enjoyed speaking at the Golf EXPO this year. My talk was titled “Don’t Practice Unless You Know How to Practice Properly.”

Preparing the presentation and then delivering it was a great exercise. It forced me to really organize my thoughts about how golfers improve and what actually helps players get better.

Too often we think that simply hitting more balls is the answer. In reality, improvement comes from understanding how to practice with purpose and clarity.

Experiences like this remind me how much I enjoy sharing ideas about the game and helping golfers see it in a simpler way. I feel like I’m continuing to refine and simplify the game every time I have opportunities like this.
